Oh! It's not like he could or probably wanted to, but it's sad to think that Kuro still missed him despite what he did when he left (cough) blew shit up (cough). I mean, a pardon seems too good to be true, but if Onoki was willing to give it out...nah, Deidara wouldn't have come back anyway. He tasted freedom and wanted to run with it, and then he got nailed down by the Akatsuki.

Still, if he ever wanted to come back..there's some comfort for me knowing he'd have a place to do so.

I just want to say...that I hate that you made me cry. And it takes a lot to make me cry from a simple story. I always look for the flaws and errors of those angsty moments, but for this...I was completely absorbed. It sounded so full of hope and sorrow that by the time I got through halfway, my years were threatening to spill.

So..thank you. Thank you for making this the one-shot of a lifetime. :)

This is such a heartwarming story. It nearly breaks my heart because Deidara will never receive it and the part about him telling her not to go to the Academy on the day he blew it up was just so freaking sad. I think I'm just about ready to tear up.

This was so beautifully written and I love all the little nuances you've included in Deidara's personality and how Kurotsuchi regards him as a brother. The last two lines she wrote were particularly heartbreaking.
