WTFIZTHISSSHIT?

That... was... incredibly sad and beautiful.
I'll be honest, I came to this story mostly expecting smut and angst/violence just for the sake of it, but this fic was so much more layered and thoughtful than that.
I love the poem at the end so much - the use of the lines as chapter titles definitely added to the reading experience.
I love the recurring theme of mortality vs. immortality, the human experience vs. nations experience - in particular, destructive desire on Kiku's part. I loved how complex and mysterious Kiku and Yao's relationship was, the role of Asahiko as someone for Yao to keep himself in the past in some way, and as someone for Kiku to be envious of (but more in the sense that he sees his past self in Asahiko and wishes to be like that again, maybe)
The ending had me in tears, frankly, though I'm really not sure why! I think because Kiku and Yao were so desperate, in their own ways. And the hand reaching out to Kiku - the icing on the cake, really, for me. Just the idea that Yao still loves Kiku in some buried way despite everything that has happened... ;-;
Overall, this story was a delight to read - dark and morbid and achingly beautiful with emotions and language. I don't normally reach NiChu, but I'm very glad I read this fic.

Breath takingly written. Thank you using such poetic and wonder features to describe and enhance the characters and plot, this is easily one of my favourite NiChu fanfics with Kiku being this power hungry, dark tyrant whereas China is the stubborn rather emotionless person.

I must say before anything else that your writing style, the way you express the story and the characters, is absolutely amazing. I couldn't stop reading so here I am sleeping late once again. The feels... Really I'm in love with this. I remember reading Half a Millenium and being absolutely entranced, so thank you once again for continuing the feels. Ahh I love you so much .destiny-san! I know it's been a long time since you've been on fanfiction but I still thought I must review, since the story is just too good. XD

Oh, this fic was so perfect, it left me without words. How sweet the ending was...

Waaaait a second, there were more Axis countries than the three. And while yes, loyalties existed, states like Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, should be independent, at least in name.
World superpowers? Yes, the three. But countries? A bit more.
It was all the criticism I had too do. This story is immaculate, a perfect crown jewel, in every other way.

Beautiful and sad. A work of genius. The feels. Can't think now. Need sleep. Crying.

If this story is not the essence of the term satire, I have no notion of what is.
Soo... the Axis turned on each other? If they were to win the war, that would have eventually happened, anyway...

"although Yao had not planned it to this extent" WAIT MY CHINA PLANNED THIS?! THE DEATH OF A (somewhat) INNOCENT HUMAN BEING?!
I'm not a NiChu shipper and I usually don't read m-rated fanfics but this. WHOAA... amazing.
Just the characterizations, man... I love Kiku being all dark and possessive and China being the smart (and sexy) little chipper. And poor Asahiko...I didn't realize I felt bad for him until this chapter...
And Although I know why he did this... I hate China right now...just... I don't know why but I hate him...

I felt very conflicted and didn't know what to say about kiku's insanity or yao's stubbornness. All I do know is that despite of everything-of the chaos around them their feelings reached each other. In my mind I imagine them walking hand in hand in the bamboo forest where they first met. A castle of silence and bones indeed, for the ones who lived there it was just that nothing more, the beauty in the beginning was but a facade. In the end it showed its true face. Who would want to live in a place that contains their horrible memories?
I believe that now those two are starting a new journey.

Still don't get it. Well, I get that Japan is draping China, and Japan is confusing, but I don't understand.
