Reviews for Two of a Kind
JayRain chapter 1 . 8/5/2011
A chilling and touching look at Cailan's thoughts about his brother and their father. You've given a voice to his insecurities and curiosities that makes the overconfident young king almost breakable. The fact that they both realize the similarities and yet can't act on them because of the tenuous nature of politics is heartbreaking, yet honest. Well done.
Interesting chapter 1 . 5/13/2011
That was new and different. I liked it ) I always did find them a bit similar too, after it is revealed that they are captured it quite well.
WingsandRings chapter 1 . 4/24/2010
Great depiction of Cailan!

BTW, It is confirmed in the game that Cailan knew Alistair was his brother. If you talk to Anora at Eamon's estate, she'll give you a description of Alistair. If you ask how she knows so much, she'll tell you Cailan knew about Alistair, had been gathering information on him, and had, for whatever reason, passed along that information to Anora.
black mage wannabe chapter 1 . 3/7/2010
Very nice. I like the thought that Cailan knew Alistair was his brother and actually cared for him. I also enjoyed the similarities the two had. Great fic!
esca6angel chapter 1 . 3/4/2010
It sounds like Cailan alright. They would have made great brothers/friends too.
Eishexe chapter 1 . 11/29/2009
...*sits down in my favorite chair, with a bag of my favorite chips, a soda.*...this is going to be good! *preceeds to stare hopefully at my phone waiting for the next chapter alert!*

I had not had any way to identify with Cailan until now. This was amazing. Well done, well done. :)
Kea Renee chapter 1 . 11/27/2009
I simply love this tid-bit. and all the while i was picturing my female Elvish mage as the character. Anyway, I've copied it to word so I can print it for a reread.
lazyguy90 chapter 1 . 11/22/2009
Very cool work on this. Nice one. Keep at it.
devilherdue chapter 1 . 11/19/2009
Very touching.
Crisium chapter 1 . 11/19/2009
I love that you've explored this possibility- it's a gorgeous little fic, and the similarities between the two of them are one of those wonderful little things that just begs to be noticed, I think.

Fantastic stuff.
Rainfallen chapter 1 . 11/19/2009
I. Love. This. I was just toying with the idea of a few Cailan-and-Alistair moments in Ostagar this morning (because if Alistair knew, it really isn't a stretch to think Cailan must have known, too).

It's really bittersweet - both of them were very alone in so many ways, and had this battle gone differently, I like to think they could have been friends. Their silent acknowledgement of each other was really touching.

I rather like the way you developed Cailan's attraction to the Warden as a way of deflecting any sense of bitterness Cailan might have had toward Alistair because of his birth. I was afraid of some “Oh, you are the product of my father cheating on my mother and I h8 you for all you represent blah blah,” but you circumvented that very neatly. ;)

All in all, I really like your take on this, especially the depth of character you give to Cailan. Well done. ) Thank you for sharing!
impsy chapter 1 . 11/19/2009
I really enjoyed this. It was very well done, and on a subject I hadn't really thought about before. Definitely an interesting look at Cailan! Thanks for sharing! :)
