This is very good, and very believably real. It's a scene that we WISH we could see, while at the same time being a scene that we KNOW that we could see from this show, these writers, these characters. Kudos on staying true, and on capturing many different shades of Cal (brusque, honest, harsh, gentle, regretful, self-aware, self-deprecating) in very little text.

Your descriptions give a wealth of imagery, but you're very concise, which I appreciate. Nice overall balance of thought and action, too. Please write more!
