That was a nice story. Well, horrible in that the soldier died after all his effort, but nice in the way he cared for and ultimately saved Cor. And that he is honored in Narnia for his unselfish actions :)

I love the idea of Emeth from TLB being a descendant of the one who took care of Cor. I began to suspect it after seeing his name and general attitude. The way Emeth talks about his wife is sweet, and indicates that they shared a better sort of love than that of most Calormene couples. Even in this short time I felt sympathy for Emeth, for you characterized him well, and that is sometimes a difficult thing to do.

All in all, it is a wonderful one-shot that does justice to Narnia as so many have failed to do.

By the way, it was COR, not Corin, who was sent to Calormen as a baby. He was the eldest son of King Lune and it was prophesied that "a day would come when he'd save Archenland from the deadliest danger in whichever she lay". So Lord Bar arranged to have him kidnapped and taken from his home, which, ironically, led eventually to the prophecy coming true. CORIN remained with his parents this whole time until he traveled to Tashbaan with Susan and Edmund's party, where he met Cor who at that time was Shasta. So, you have the wrong twin. Sorry. Great idea, though.

Nice, I really liked this! Great take on a character not a lot of people think about. I hadn't considered the fact that he was a Calormene, but that makes sense. And I like that you connected him to Emeth from the Last Battle, who is one of my favorite characters.
