Dean is so Amazing...
Did and do so much for Sam.

It was all incredible and admirable !

And if he think the love sometimes was a selfish one, it was all reasonable. Understanding... no need to feel shame.

I really, REALLY liked this story - almost an epistle. From the time they were young, then through the hard middle years, then when they were back together after Jess, to the even harder time when Sam turned against Dean. You can tell it's love, not just orders too. It's pure love - and yeah, somewhat selfish, somewhat sacrificial.

Can I just say... WOW. Great job, K.

Every vignette in this story was perfect, and I felt my heart squeeze through every one. Dean spotting the pedophile and protecting Sam, Dean finding a way to feed Sam when the food was gone, Dean fighting the Gulon to protect downed Sam - all wonderful. But when you unrolled that last one, with the demon blood addiction and the depth of betrayal and loss Dean felt, I finally gave it up and cried. A lot. Damn, you are amazing in your ability to capture the pure essence of this Story and these characters.

Perfect. Loved the progression. How nothing ever changed. Dean still looked after his brother. Because it was his brother. And that's just what he does.

LOVE this story. The flashbacks are very cannon and everyone is very much in character. I especially like the first one. Great job!

I had never thought of it this way, but it's true. Sam and Dean keep each other from becoming like those other hunters that we see on the show - cold, ruthless killers. I enjoyed this story, seeing all the ways that Dean has looked after Sam. I think my favourite was the first one when Sammy was little and Dean was protecting him from an all too real, non-supernatural threat. Great job with this one:)

Dean is the best big brother in the whole world! I think that's the reason why he always meant everything to Sam... And I'm pretty sure that's the reason why Sam didn't killed him when he lost his mind and tried to strangle his own brother on the floor... Sam just love him and who wouldn't?

They are both amazing, even when they make mistakes D

This was such a great collection of moments in the boys' lives! Sam's betrayal at the end hit so much harder, coming on the heels of a bunch of moments when Dean protected him.

First part: I can't even imagine John's relief when he heard about the pedophile. To have that happen to his kids, on top of everything else...

Second part: I loved seeing the beginning of Sam's growth spurt into Gigantor. ;)

Fourth part: This one had me biting my lip. Seriously, I could see Sam's poor puppy face as he's crying into his pot pie. Not a word spoken, and yet you convey such care and emotion through their actions.

Last part: **He just loved the kid. With every molecule of his being, not for anything Sam did or said, not because Sam was always loveable. Simply because he was Sam.**

I suck at reviews, but wanted to tell you that I loved this story.

It was almost like watching Dean's life flash in front of my eyes, with a few important moments standing out to be re-examined.

I particularly liked this passage:

"Look after your brother. That was the true Winchester gospel, and Dean could no more ignore it than he could stop breathing"

Really love how you chronicled Dean's life via things he's done for Sam. We know he's an awesome big brother and self-sacrificing, and mostly forgiving.

I think it would be a cool companion piece to show what Sam has done for Dean. Obviously, it's a completely different angle, but these boys love each other and I'd love to see - through your eyes - how this partnership works.

I'm glad I'm learning your tongue. This way I have to read twice your stories (at least) and it's a real pleasure. Your fic is great because it's true. It might not be always factual, but it's consistent and authentic and you've earned the credibility to write the guys. I trust you're showing exactly how've been their lives.

I loved all flashbacks. I loved John holding Dean tight and right there he knew he did the right thing. I loved Sam "sensing" what Dean had done to get food, that Dean was there for Sam when he was hurt, grieving, threatened, or afraid of his dad. Great construction leading to the conclusion: Dean loves Sam, not because his dad told him to, nor because Sam won his affection, but just because he is his Sam. I think Sam loves Dean the same way. I love you say that nothing could eliminate Dean's love for his brother. I adore you say Dean is a better man, that "Sam’s mere existence had brought out the good in Dean and saved his soul from a life of pure killing and vengeance." Thank you very much!
