A very nice look at these two very different characters

Oh my gosh, this, like so many of your other stories, is so touching and sad.

I like the similarities between the two characters, and although I personally thought there was always something between Haymitch and Effie that wasn't just playful banter, I'd never imagined it to be this deep, but you've really brought out their essence.

And I like the line: But in these times, he/she looks at Effie/Haymitch and wonders (vaguely, you understand) what it would be like to be with her/him and not just 'with' her/him. To have a conversation with her/him which doesn't involve two children who will shortly be dead, to laugh like a normal person, to (God forbid) be sober with her/him.

It just creates an image of those two actually suiting each other and being legitimately in love without the strain of the games!

I read this a while ago but mustn't have reviewed. This is lovely, you capture these two so well. :)

I like this interpretation of Effie's character - a person whose moral compass isn't actually broken, but who hides from it in intentional shallowmindedness.

This is my favorite Effie/Haymitch story on ! I absolutely love it so much it's so perfect! You capture the Games in their eyes so well, and I feel like the characterization is spot on. My favorite lines have to be, "Because sometimes, she really does hate Haymitch for all that he does. And sometimes, she loves Haymitch for all that he is." and "Because sometimes, he really does hate Effie for all that she stands for. And sometimes, he loves Effie for all that she is." The first time I read Haymitch saying that I just started crying because it was so perfect! I seriously love love LOVE this fic and I hope you write more Effie/Haymitch. You did such a great job capturing their thoughts and inner monologues. Perfect! :)

This was adorable. Just... adorable. I loved how they have the same general thoughts, just with different issues. Plus, Haymitch/Effie is my favorite couple in the Hunger Games xP

That was really good. I like that they both have some feelings for each other. Cant wait for the next one. I know it's gonna be good!

I really love this. It's interesting how they're so obviously different but you gave them the same kind of problems that are just about different things and made them somewhat alike. That sounded really weird, I hope you get what I mean. D:

Very nicely done. Although I don't ship these two, I found the relationship between them fascinating. You have a good sense of character, and of pacing as well.

I like how it's contrasting yet similar at the same time.

And yes, Effie seems a tad too peppy.
