Probably the first time I've written a review after reading a fanfic,I just have to say, THIS STORY IS AMAZING! The plot,the characters themselves...Its just...wow...

The fact that this story is written in Traditional PaperMario or TTYD style is really unexpected but heartbreaking at the same time,since now in 2020, with the release of Paper mario TOK, the 'old' paper mario format is no more,all we have is some paper pun world with actual objects and temporally so called 'partners'(Bobby is great btw) is actually quite depressing to the old if this story is created in 2008 or ten years ago,this is one paper mario related fanfic that reminded me the times when I watched paper mario and TTYD LPs from old YouTubers years ago (I actually haven't played The first two games before I only played Super Paper mario)Btw,good references from the first three games!

The story itself is in a traditional paper mario style, With the 'ongoing' plot with Peach being kidnapped by some unknown villain and Mario have to team up with his partners and save the world on the ,the partners (expect for Goomblaine ofc) are unique and they weren't used(?) in the first two one with Goomblaine is quite heartbreaking though (I kinda wanted him to leave the team until I knew who he really is lol) The writing is excellent (to me) but I just don't really like Mario's personality, he's a bit too self centered I guess.

Oh my goodness.

So I found this fanfic at TV Tropes (a website that showcases... tropes of shows, anime, tv shows, and fanfics etc.) and BOY was this a ride.

Well, I never cared about spoilers (in fact, I just tap all of the spoiler things to reveal stuff whenever I see them!), but it still made me cry regardless. Especially at that one scene.

If this becomes a game, I can imagine Mario speaking gibberish, only communicating to the player via body language, and his partners communicating what he is saying via reactions.

I have an example that is spoilery (chapter 7), so if any readers that happen to see this don’t want yourself be spoiled, then go read the thing. It made me cry at chapter 7 despite me being spoiled!

That thing where Goomblaine leaves the group? I imagine Mario just saying random stuff that translates to what he says in this fic, then Goomblaine says what he is saying via reaction.

That’s just an example. Also, end of spoilers.

And I forget that Ferdinand is a bumpty, not a doogan.

Sometimes, I forget that Snatchel is a Nabbit, not a Koopa.

Little did you know that PM for the 3DS is a big disaster...

I wonder if Origami King will fix all of those problems...

I am in love with this. I was rewatching some old Let’s Plays of the Paper Mario series and went on a binge to read all of the fanfics and I think this is my favorite one for Paper Mario that’s not a direct continuation or a slice of life dealio about characters that are only in the Paper Mario series
