Reviews for If it Ain't Broke
livingandthriving chapter 1 . 11/26/2013
I've read this about a dozen times now and it never ceases to crack me up. This whole mishap is classic John and Rodney, and Elizabeth's reaction is equally classic. Of course she'd "punish" John by making him her "escort" and intimidate Rodney into fixing the city ASAP. Her banter with John is also completely in character. "Tinkle, tinkle, little star" and "Mi sofa es su sofa" have me in stitches every time. Ah, those two... :)

Great story- your sense of humour is great. "I was plummeting through space when I did that. The threat of death is always pretty good incentive."

She folds her arms across her chest. "Consider yourself threatened." :D:D:D I loved that!

"What, you don't like being Elizabeth's manpanion?"

"Man what?"

Rodney shrugs. "It's what everyone's calling you now. I think it's kind of catchy." LOL!

I love Rodney so much and yours is so in character especially the 'unimpressively vague' line, I also love the little kid/sibling relationship between John and Rodney and I can imagine this happening on the show (I still laugh every time I watch John push Rodney off the balcony and the 'I shot him' line) - and Elizabeth as usual has to be the voice of reason and be able to back it up with threats and long glances and raised eyebrows. The idea of John having to trail after Elizabeth (or sit around while she works...because he wouldn't bother with the opportunity to do paperwork) for a day (tho he does kinda of follow her around anyway) is very cute and I'm happy you worked out a plausible reason without needing tons of tech talk. Not that tech talk isn't fun.

You have a fantastic sense of humor, I can't believe you don't have more reviews.

Thanks! You made me laugh after a really hard day at work. I thought I was going to have an accident laughing when John started singing "Tinkle, tinkle" in the bathroom! And it only got worse when he switched to "Waterfalls"!

That was great!

You do humor very well. I could easily see this having taken place on the show - and now I even wish it had. It would have made a great episode! I really enjoyed John's internal dialogue choice of songs for the "tinkle" scene. I think "manpanion" is my new favorite word. All in all a very delightful story.
