Great story! I really enjoyed it!

Beautifully written as a what if fic...I am fairly new to Bones (2016) and am in love with this show! Booth and Brennan-NO ONE ELSE IN THE UNIVERSE IS LIKE THIS COUPLE! :) David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel have the sexiest, hottest, sweetest, most tender chemistry EVER. I see why these 2 are like family IRL. Just so sweet!

As for this scenario, I cried when Booth was shot and cried when Brennan is shot years later. In this fic, you nail BB chemistry and passion. Great work!

'Dr. Brennan, your package is bleeding.' That's the perfect way to end a romantic/caring moment :)

I love your rendition of the last two episodes of Season Three! On the show Brennan constantly tries to suppress her feelings or justify them in some way but as an anthropologist you'd think she would try to discern what she's feeling and acknowledge her emotions in order to further evolve. I like how in your story she was more adept in embracing her feelings as opposed to ignoring them-she's very admirable this way! And I love your comparison of life and love and how Brennan reasons that they are both ephemeral. Love gives life some substance and both Booth and Brennan deserve the happiness that derives from love. Thanks so much for the awesome read! :)))

God, this is quite possibly one of the best things I have read in quite a while. Needless to say, I love Bones with a burning, fiery passion, and I just LOVE how you made this story come together. You know, I did kinda wonder what would have happened if Booth didn't take the bullet (even though we wouldn't have seen Bones' bad-ass shot straight to the throat), and this was just perfect. I like how you made Booth so mad at her, and taking a little while to forgive Bren, because, let's be honest, when Booth's hurting that bad, he wouldn't be okay for a while-he does think with his heart, after all :). I don't think I even have any criticisms for this, because I didn't really notice any conventional errors.

This story was just awesome! I cried (not that that's hard to do, lol) because you made everybody's pain so realistic. I felt like I was there-and you captured it perfectly, again:).

I loved it. Thank you. And now I'll stop rambling :)

This... was fantastic. As I was reading this, I was reminded of a very good Bones-does-without-Booth-for-weeks fic based off the Wannabe ep, I think it's by brainysmurf6 (on my favs)... and, wow. You did great with your Booth exposition. I think it'd be hard to get in his head sometimes,b ut you did a wonderful job.

Your Brennan sounds a bit like Spock, just so you know. Gave me the luls, because it was really authentic.

you are a brilliant writer - i love your style! it's easy to read because my mind doesn't get lost in long paragraphs.

you seamlessly blend humour and deep angst with meaningful plot.

i wondered why sweets wasn't involved in the disclosure as he was with the series, though that became apparent when you drew the paralel between Brennan's parents leaving and her fake death. Very well done!

I rarely go for 'what if' plot lines but, am glad i read this one!

I really, REALLY enjoyed this reversal of events. I loved how you had Brennan relate what she did back to her father and while it killed me I could perfectly visualize Booth standing at the head of her grave, fitting into the roll of widower only not and it crushed me to little pieces. Fabulous job. Thank you for sharing it with us.
