AndurilofTolkien chapter 1 . 5/2/2017 aw nice |
Frodo's sister chapter 1 . 9/14/2013 Interesting story. The horse must have been a temporamental character. I'm guessing that Estel is about 7 or 8. I could be wrong. Estel wasn't crying when he was injured and I doubt that a 3 to 5 year old child would not cry when he gets injured like that. |
BakerStreetIsLastRefugeOfHope chapter 1 . 1/3/2013 Very sweet. |
Louiseoblique chapter 1 . 5/14/2011 I just love this comment: "It's amazing how much you can learn by talking to the horsemaster," LOL! They definetly come by it honestly! :) |
The Pearl Maiden chapter 1 . 2/19/2011 Aw! Cute brotherly bonding. Haha! The ending was priceless! :D |
fairy goatmother chapter 1 . 2/15/2011 "It's amazing how much you can learn by talking to the horsemaster," ROFLOL oh I almost suffocated while trying to laugh quietly. My two year old is sick, and fitfully resting about 4 feet from me. I was taking a sip of desperately needed coffee when I read that line. Oh, you are cruel. LOL |
Nerica chapter 1 . 8/1/2009 lol for a moment i thought elrond really guessed right..xD |
Ragnelle chapter 1 . 6/26/2009 I concur with the rest of your reviewers: very cute story, and the end-line is very good. I have one horsy nitpick though: I have never in my soon 20 years of riding met a horse that protests being ridden without a saddle. I have meet more than a few that protests haveing the saddle put on. What makes you more prone to fall without a saddle is that you have less help to keep your balance on the horse; it is simply more difficult. The horse can take advatage of this of course, but it is not because it wants to have a saddle on. Besides Elves normally ride without tack so I doubt a horse in Imladis would be unused to this. There is also no great art in riding bareback; you need balance, as you do with all riding regardless of saddles. Sorry, but this trew me off an otherwise good and well-told story. |
Nieriel Raina chapter 1 . 6/20/2009 This is really cute and I enjoyed it! Couple of pickies. Early on, you call Estel a young man, this implies to me a teenager at least, yet he's being carried to bed. That implies just a child. I would call him a boy, instead of a young man in the earlier reference. :) Another small quibble, the summary calls this a drabble. So I was surprised when I clicked on it and found instead, a short ficlet. It is checking in at just over 700 words. A drabble is exactly 100 words, a double drabble 200, a triple 300. Just so you know because that will throw some readers off from reading it. I'd label this a ficlet instead. :) I hope next time Estel stays on the horse! |
Mandora chapter 1 . 6/20/2009 Very cute-I especially enjoyed the last line. Fathers always know-no matter how they find out! :) I enjoyed the interplay between the twins and Estel as well. And how Elrohir gets to play "big brother" after being Elladan's "little (twin) brother" for so many years. Thanks for writing this! |
Clodia chapter 1 . 6/20/2009 This is very sweet. Thank you! |
