Update on where my re-read is at! Chapter 46, technically haha. I was planning on leaving this comment on the next chapter, #45, cause that chapter was where I left my first ever review for this fic! wayyyyy back in 2012. which is wild, haha. damn time flies. but, unfortunately it only lets you review once per chapter? so, because I left that first review back in 2012 for chap 45, it won't let me do another one. That'll make it harder to update you as I go further in the story, cause I think up until ch. 88-ish is where I stopped leaving most reviews. I'll figure it out, if need be I'll just log out and leave a guest review to give updates for a while.

anywho, it's been really fun seeing the gradual improvement in writing, and as i'm going along and reading more and more, little details that I'd completely forgotten about are coming back to me haha. having a fun time, still love this fic all these years later, truly.

I hope that you're holding up alright with everything going on! the world sure is. an interesting place,,,,, nowadays huh XD truly though, I hope you're doing alright.

anyways, I just wanted to pop in and say hi real quick. I actually got ff9 on my switch recently, started up a new game! and subsequently got the strong urge to re-read this entire fic from the very beginning lmao. started just a couple hours ago, am making good progress haha (obviously i'm currently on chapter 17). it's honestly been really fun and charming so far to read from the beginning and see just how much you've improved? genuinely, you've improved so so much in every conceivable way. the writing itself, the pacing, the character development, the dialogue, the length in chapters. also, just gotta say, the not-so-subtle blatant Blank thirst in these early A/N's are positively sending me XD

so yeah, i plan on reading this fic all the way through again! it might be slow going, cause i actually started grad school last week! so that's exciting. but i plan on every once in a while popping in, leaving a quick review to keep you updated on my progress haha. i'll see if i can even try to brute-force my way into my old account too haha. not sure if you still read comments, or are even interested in me giving updates, but i'll see if i can get into that old account anyways, just for nostalgia's sake. huh, i wonder if all my old PMs would still be there? is that something that deletes after a certain amount of years? something to look into, for sure

but yeah! i thought i'd just let you know i was making my way through this story again, and it holds a very near and dear place in my heart. thank you for sharing it with us, and with me

Okay, I'm afraid this will be a bit long, but don't judge me, I've something like 11 years of comment to compensate!
First of all, I've binge-read this story in like three days, that is pretty impressive if you consider how slow I actually am.
Long story short, I'm locked in my house and I need something to do and I see this enormous work.
The story ends with me bawling my eyes out at 3:51 am.
Okay, let's talk about the style, first. It has been 11 years so it's normal that you have improved but.. wow, your latest chapter were so well written, I literally fell in love with your style. The scene where Garnet finally sees Alexandria for the first time is one of my favourite for sure!
Okay, now the characters: your oc are so well made? I actually cared for them, they could have just belonged to canon! I liked how you gave them a backstory and not just a name!
For the plot... I'm a sucker for stories setted in an alternative universe that have some reference to what happened in canon so it was so nice being able to recognize some particular events from the game, like Blank and the Evil Forest. But what I appreciated the most was how you took some of the most iconic revelation and used them but with a plot twist! Like, at first I was not so sure about the change of Brahne character, but I slowly fell in love with Victoria and the revelation that was not Dagger herself from Madain Sari but her mother! Then everything made sense, I was so surprised! And in a pleasant way! Really, your use of canon element is excellent! Maybe is the thing that I liked the most in the story! But the whole story was nice, I like how you use time, how you give each character time to heal, fall in love, grow up, mourn.
And then, the characters are so well written, it's beautiful how you were able to treat each one in a different way, with different virtues, values, emotions but it is easy to spot the differences between the generations!
Dulcis in Fundo, the ships. Ruby and Blank's relationship was the truest, it shows how confusing it can be to fall in love with who was always by your side, the raw pain you feel when your partner refuses to just communicate.
Beatrix and Steiner's one was the most mature, they have been so selfless in their whole like, refusing to even talk about their feelings for the greater good and look them now, with a precious daughter!
Freya and Fratley are so reletable, with Freya and her abandonment issues but her want to just fix their story!
And Zidane and Garnet, how is it possible to explain all the emotions this two gave me, the joy, the tenderness of their small moments and the sadness! They are so precious, you wrote them in a such precious way!
There are so many things I want to say, and so little time so I just wanted to thank you for the dedication! Eleven years are a lot of time, but you still cherish this and you keep on uploading it! Literraly, thank you for giving me so much emotions!
(Also, I'm sorry for my typos and mistakes but now it's really late and English is not even my first language!)

Omg Zidane! I’m so happy to see him alive and wholly cow he’s with Quan! I’m glad to see things moving with blank and I hope things go well with it

Eeeeeee! I don’t wanna give anything away from someone 1st reading. I’m so excited thank you thank you! I’m also happy to see Blank making amends for what he did wrong. I hope that Blank and Ruby’s relationship blossoms now that they have kissed. Daggers and Blanks reunion was great too. Not much was said but enough for the future to look brighter. Finally Beatrix and Stieners daughter Omg so cute. I’m so happy for them. It’s so cute to think of them arguing over who’s gunna hold the baby more. And to think of Dagger getting baby snuggles after mom and dad go to sleep.
Thank you so much for the update and what a great sappy chapter, I’m a sucker for cute friendship and lovers forgiveness. I can’t wait for the next chapter. I can’t believe what we found out in this chapter. Thanks again till next time ;) Your number 1 fan

What an awesome chapter you really do a wonderful job on this story. And it’s ok if the chapters are a little late, you have wrote this beast of a story and I will continue reading til the end. I love the tell with Elouise and Dagger I think it might be one of my top favorites of the story. So much was said that Dagger needed to hear to keep her going. And Bronson WTF he needs his ass kicked for even showing up to ask for Daggers hand. I did have to laugh tho how Dagger came home after running off and Beatrix and Steiner were the worried brother sister. That scene was so sweet and so family that Dagger needs made me so happy... Not to rush u or anything but WHAT HAPPENED TO ZIDAINE! Lol keep up the awesome work and see u next chapter ;)

Omg this chapter had the interaction of two characters that I had always wanted to see and have been imagining for so long! I love of supporting Eloise was to dagger with her pain and I hope Bronson gets in trouble for wat he tried to do along with the council. I look forward to the next chapter and I hope u are doing well

I really love this story. I've not said it nearly enough but I love, love this story, and I get excited every time I see you update. I'm so glad I decided to readthough it's size was intimidating, it's been so worth it. I eagerly await the next chapter, no matter how long it takes.

Omg Bronson wth. What is he doing here... hopefully he has some information and not trying to slime his way into Daggers heart. Also GO RUBY I’m glad to have her kick her daddy’s ass the scum bag deserved it after saying all that crap about Amarant. Good for her for finally realizing what is gunna make her happy. So I really hope Blank finds some closure and has finally had a kick in the pants from an unlikely source. And good for Dagger learning the ways of politics but not losing herself in the process.
Thank you so much for this chapter it’s great to kinda see the story kinda moving ahead a little. Can’t wait for more information on Zidane. I know it’s coming and I’m patiently waiting lol. This is always something I look forward to reading and thank you for giving us this monster of a story. Until next chapter hope it’s soon

Yay another chapter! I’m glad to see ruby and blank do some soul searching it felt good to read Ruby’s part of the chapter. It was a feeling of relief for her to do that lol. But that cliffhanger though I need the next chapter! I hope you have a wonderful day!

YAY! I saw the update and got very excited, so much has changed with Freya and Eiko. It’s very sad about Freya’s eyesight but it’s great she’s not letting it get her down. Eiko is amazing with keeping Madain Sari up and running. She will be great at keeping the history. I’m glad she’s not all alone and now has the history buffs to help her. It’s so sweet the Ruby and Eiko have some of Amarants claws as necklaces. I’m happy Vivis and Eikos romance hasn’t completely died I hope we can see more of it in the future. But my number one thought is where is Zidane? I like how u through in a thought of where he might be. I just want him to be ok and marry Dagger lol.
Thanks for the update and I understand completely that u are wanting this story to be the best it can. So keep up the great work, and update extra early this time to make it up to us :p

Oh my I really thought it would bei over with 134th chapters xD I really love it but I feel so bad for Dagger. She's really trying but nearly everyone rejects her :/ poor girl . Can't wait to find out what happened to Zidane some day .
