*Excited squealing the likes of which this world has never heard before* UPDATED!- I'm soooooooo happy! Sorry it took so long to review- I literally saw this 5 hours after it was posted, but I haven't had a chance to work up the courage or time to type up a decent review. So here it goes!
Poor Ken, me thinks he needs a vacation. Baby sitting Chick has gotta be hard on a guy.
I wonder if Mack is gonna wake up and report Lightning missing too? Boy, I bet that would set Strip off big time. Now BOTH these idiots are missing...great. Speaking of, I'd love to know what he's up to while this is going on. What calls did he have to make when Marv was at the precinct?

Chick's dad actually talking to him and portraying how awkward it was was a really nice touch. I feel like it's going to be emotional as all get out finding out what really happened to Chase.

Also, I wonder if we're going to see Mr. Henry Carson soon? Or Bonnie? I'd die for some mother/son reconnecting. Also, in a previous chapter, you referred to Chick's uncle as Victor, but here it's Patrick. Just thought I'd let you know. :)

Oh Jebus- now McQueen has found Chick. I'm squirming for Chick-I seriously hope his worst memory doesn't take place in the form of a flashback in front of his rival. Chick is a proud guy, and I don't think McQueen would be in a merciful mood if that happened.

Aww, Ken and Gillie are so cute together. Though I think spell check might have got a hold of her name when she's talking about the military base that was built and changed it to Millie. Poor Marv, just as stressed out as Chick just for him it's because of Chick. Oh, Lightning's starting to piece it together. I liked how you had Sally and Lightning talk about how Doc's colour of blue wouldn't suit Lightning, it was really jarring to see him that colour in Cars 3 and I could never decide whether it was because he truly didn't look good in that blue or if it was just because I was so used to seeing him red. Loved the Sally and Lightning moment.

This was great!, I love the complexity you give Chick and adore how well thought out his history is from you, and Lightning not wanting to be made fun of was just adorable! (he's such a Sweetie-Pie underneath that suave, smug nature he tries to show off all the time), do you plan on getting into his past at all just as a sort of side thing?... (most people seem to give Lightning abusive parents hence his insecurity, but I'd be very interested to see what rout YOU'D! take with his past!) XD

Strip is a fic hog because he knows that he's FABULOUS!

I feel so sorry for Lightning. The guy is just trying to do what he does best but gets the short stick in this scenario. Was the McGrill a jab at Sterling's merchanise?

Lightning and rust. Hee, this stacked with the "this is not good for my image" from the movie is just genius. It's just too good. Ahhh Mater, you don't quite get it, do ya?

Doc was great. He remains level-headed and thinks about the bigger picture, unlike his rookie, and stirs up Sheriff about his own rookie-to-be. Doc is such a sly car, I swear. Guilt-tripping Sheriff. That Mercury is never going to get a break with Doc, is he?

A hick-up caused by Chick Hicks. I guess someone was bound to say it some time huh?

Jimmy...that is just so adorable. And Sheriff is getting a wee bit attached isn't he?

Poor Marv, I feel for the poor fella. Chick! Get your backside back to your friends and put them out of their misery!

Marv and Strip scene: That was amazing. Poking bees' next, then something deep that almost reduced me to tears and made me love the guy more. You made my heart go out to Strip, you honestly did.

Chick felt that way once? What? What?! MIND. BLOWN.

and next had me shocked before I re-read a certain part (you know what one,...or not). I guess that what happens when I read with a mobile. I was horrified for a moment before seeing the truth.

At the end of the day, I don't blame Marv if he does go through with it. What other choice does he have? Toss in the towel, mate. He could BE dead.

Well, P.A.W.07, all in all (lol) I have to say that this was one hell of a ride to read and I love it to bits. It was definitely a nice way to cap off my day of exams. A hook, line and sinker chapter that delivered the emotions of every character very well.

AWE! Lightning and Jimmy are both so cute! even when Lightning is being a drama-llama! XD

Go on Sheriff, just accept it already!.

When I was reading Lightning freak out about rust and Mack telling people to knock off with the rust word my thoughts went to said fic which I love. It may not seem like nothing was done but it's all set up for later. I wasn't expecting it to have been Strip who talked behind Marv at first I thought it might have been Kitt Knight (who is a Knight Rider reference isn't). Poor Marv is having almost as rough a time as Chick is. I don't mind Strip being a fic hog.

The first thing I have to remark on is the fantastic way that you've retained Chick's personality while he's in a very different scenario to being on a track. You've still got his harsh and tough exterior as the 'base' of his personality but displaying other factors such as gratitude and sadness in a well-balanced manner. It is not an easy thing to do with a character with as little screen time as Chick who was only conveyed as a jerk in the movies.

The second I'd like to commend is the well-delivered fact that Chick isn't a thick-headed car and doesn't try to fool himself out of believing the truth, no matter how horrible it may be.

His past doesn't redeem Chick, but it gives valid reasons for the 'how' of Chick became who he is now.

A crying Chick? Without seeing the previous chapters one would be completely confused, but having read them myself I can understand by he cried in his sleep. The fact is took Chick coming all the way here which resulted in his first cry just makes it all that sadder and the reader more empathetic. Beautiful work.

And Ken? The yesman has become more of a friend or evident friend now, and I have to say the transition in this chapter was a pleasant read. It gives you a reason to smile in this grim situation of Chick's. I hope they become as thick as thieves later. Chick needs somebody in this dark hour.

Rushed? No, absolutely not! Well-paced is a more accurate description.

I hope Strip makes an appearance soon. Or that whatever is creeping Chick out is Bonnie.

Now that my mind's on it, I would kill for some Chick and Bonnie re-bonding. The last thing Chick heard his mother say was a negative comparison to a car he had never met, and perhaps that fact is the reason why words haven't been exchanged yet. Bonnie just can't form the words necessary to begin. It's clear Chick's mother when he was six did love him. Maybe making them reconnect could do him a world of good when he needs a mother's love most.
