Cool story! :) Arthur was cute about merlin :3

Very good fanfiction, good plot, pacing and SPAG, though I think that Claton needed a bit more development as a villain before he kidnaps Merlin - like maybe you could have him visiting him really briefly for a while, making him get really paranoid or something. But anyways, all in all it was a really good fic. :) well done

I love this story, but I'm a bit confused on how it is that Merlin, of ALL magic users in the world could ever hope to run out of magic. Not being skilled in spells and lack of knowledge I can buy considering how early we are into canon of the show, but running out of magic, getting tired due to his use of magic? That's a hard sell.

The amount of girlish squealing and humming I did at that last scene is pathetic. I'm now sitting here, with tears in my eyes as I try to contain my gleeful squeals, and I fear if I opened my mouth all that would come out is 'squee' and then i'd have to explain to my husband what's going on... and that would just be dreadfully humiliating.

rather than a final fruitless effort by the bad guy, we have a segue to a sequel... hm!
