What a great one-shot! I especially loved the part when Sirius speaks to James's parents. It's nice that we don't get to hear what he says, it makes the whole thing more... endearing :-)

Also, James and Lily are great!

Loved the pattern of using the first day of term, and slowly, closing the relationship between James and Lily, whilst also working on the other characters in the background.

It was quite good. What was Sirius saying to James' parents for sixth year? I guess we just need to use our imagination for that part.

This is a really great story! I love the subtle details you include that end up as foreshadowing though at first reading I might have missed it. You're really a great writer, I hope you keep it up!
