jack63kids chapter 1 . 3/8/2014 Great little sicfic - surprising that more people don't write them about MrsH. |
Stunning Sunset chapter 1 . 10/14/2013 It was a really cute domestic moment! I really enjoyed it! |
darkaccalia520 chapter 1 . 7/9/2013 I absolutely adore Mrs. Hudson, so I really enjoyed reading a story that focuses on her. Ah, I never really considered the difficulty she might have had doing certain tasks, not having her husband around anymore...but it makes perfect sense. I do love how she is grateful that she has Watson and Holmes to look after. She seems to enjoy making them supper, but when she takes that knife out and notes that it's quite dull and ought to be sharpened, I expected she might accidentally cut herself...and I was right. Oh, my goodness! I have never cut myself that badly, but I can imagine it had to have looked frightening. I am very impressed that she was able to think as straight as she did, but I expected she might pass out as well. Thank goodness Holmes and Watson were right around the corner because if they hadn't been, I fear that Mrs. Hudson wouldn't have been with us much longer. Oh, I love how doting they were over her and how handy it was that John is a doctor. I'm so glad they were able to patch her up, and thank goodness they make her rest, though I love how she insists on trying to get them their supper anyway. I really love that she missed someone to look after and to look after her in return without a man in the house. This was so sweet and lovely. Well done. :) |
ReadingBlueWolf chapter 1 . 7/8/2013 I love that this is through Mrs. Hudson’s view and that it touches on who she is. It’s neat to see her life now compared to what it was when her husband was around. The way you flow from family to her two lodgers was really lovely. It made me smile. I love how you bring her across as this self-sufficient woman. It was really lovely. The fact you casually throw in how her way of life is changed by Holmes and Watson is nice. It’s a minor detail that really says a lot. Oh no! She cut herself. The way you described it made me cringe! I can’t stand things like those! That was intense. I love how it said Holmes skid on the buffed floor. That was fantastic. I loved how the two men worked together to patch her up. The fact that Watson smiles and makes a few jokes was really nice. I loved the way it got her mind off of things. I really liked this, despite my aversion to anything dealing with cuts and gashes. I thought it was a very sweet story and definitely made me smile. |
Edhla chapter 1 . 7/4/2013 Hi :) I really love your leisurely, languid, Victorianesque prose, and the fact that you're not in a hurry to get things moving to the "good bits" with your narrative- it builds up up suspense for us and keeps us interested in what's going to happen. When I got to the part about the "dull knife", I was like... nononononononono! "Small glimmer of white bone..." AAAARGH I HAVE THIS THING ABOUT HAND INJURIES AND THIS JUST MADE ME AAARGH MY FEELS. I like the fact that she was more shocked than really hurt- it's much more realistic that way and less is more in terms of the angst. Minor SPaG in the middle of excellent drama: "Well, sir," with the comma inside, throughout :) Minor nitpick: I'd write "20 minutes" with the word: twenty minutes. D'aww, the denizens of Baker Street are just so adorable. I admin a community that's generally for BBC Sherlock sickfics, but I'm adding this because it's excellent, and because d'aww. Nicely done. |
Great Angemon chapter 1 . 11/17/2012 That was a really nice story. I thought, when Holmes said they could make their own food, they would leave and say, "Do you know how to cook?" Nice job, I liked it. |
Asase chapter 1 . 5/23/2012 This story was immensely heartwarming! It was so sweet to see the boys take care of Mrs. Hudson and a treat to read such a well written fic from her point of view. |
Marie Nomad chapter 1 . 11/3/2011 This is a charming fic that showed how much of a relationship Mrs. Hudson has with her two tenants. They treat her like her mother. It's adorable. Here's a tip. The Mrs. Hudson character is available as a drop down option on the archive. You can set this story so that it features Mrs. Hudson so that you can get more readers. |

Isis the Sphinx chapter 1 . 2/10/2010 We(readers) almost never get one-shots with Mrs. Hudson. She's amazing! This was a lot of fun to read. Mrs. Hudson's a great character and yet she's never touched on. Keep writing! |
