Hehheh! Yes, the holidays can play havoc with your updating. _ This was very interesting! I would have liked to see more actual Hiei/Kagome in it, but you know that's my bend. _~

You showed a nice relationship between Shippou and Kurama, and I was very intrigued by the reasons presented for Shippou having a problem with Hiei. I was a little confused about the orphanage stuff, unless this is supposed to be an AU and Kagome adopted Shippou from an orphanage. I tend to automatically assume that she just "adopted" him during their travels whenever I read a fic where they have a mother-son relationship. So, that could just be my bad.

I would have liked to see some interaction between Hiei and Shippou there instead of Kurama and Shippou discussing it. How the heck did Kurama find him first when Hiei went after him first? I was also wondering why all the guys were giving Kagome Mother's Day gifts. I think it would have been a bit better if it had just been Shippou expecting to really please and surprise Kagome with HIS gift and Hiei blundered by choosing that day to give her his tear gem and ask her out, thereby taking the shine away from Shippou. Then they could have had a great talk with Hiei having to explain he didn't know the significance of the day.

I have to give you big props for the Kagome/Shippou moment where she was unhappy because she felt she was failing him and he had to go to Kurama because he needed a father. That was very well done. _ And I really liked the idea that Shippou resented Hiei because he had succeeded in a way Shippou didn't feel he could. The fact that he also looked up to him for the same reason was really interesting. It shows there is hope they will eventually be able to get along.

You presented some really good ideas in this piece and I look forward to reading more of your work.

Hahahaahahaha! This was hilarious! I loved it! Hiei was kinda sweeter, and we kinda got to see a new side of Shippou. No one every really does him like that. Kurama was awesome like usual. Happy Writings!
