I absolutely love this story. It managed to capture the melancholy of the original anime, and is poetic and theatrical with out coming off as pretentious. Excellent work!

It might very well end up this way. I can't see Revy, in particular, making old bones, and Rock would probably forget his non-violence thing if Revy was seriously hurt, or killed.

that is certainly a fitting end. i like how the overall tone is acceptance; i don't think they'd go about it any other way. anyway, incredibly well done. bravo!

Wow, this was beautiful. I can definitely see them go down like this, and you portayed their characters beautifully. They're brave enough to face a faith like this with their heads held high, that's for sure. You have a beautiful writing style and this was a great idea. It's a shame it was so short, you could probably have done more with this, but I guess that maybe it would have been a bit of an... overkill? Maybe something like that. You put in the necessary parts and ended it at the perfect place, so it worked.

I really liked the occasional poetic-like parts you added in this, like: "They dodged bullets and bombshells and bounty hunters and everything else the world threw at them, long enough for regimes to crumble and gray to sprout in their hair." and "He stood over the boy pulling the trigger until there was nothing coming out of the pistol but clicks, and only noticed he'd been hit as well when his knees buckled and the world tumbled upside down like an overturned shot glass."

They made this piece all the more awesome and prettyfullish. Add that it shows the ugly reality to living such a life style that they do and you've got a brilliant piece of writing.

you may never get many reviews for this fic but let me tel you, this is probably the most accurate way they would go, though I'm disappointed they went down so easily that the reality of their lifestyle.
