Reviews for A Hole in His Brain
jenthegypsy chapter 1 . 7/16/2011
This is brilliant. What an outstanding intertwining of events in several episode lines threaded through with the two sides of Tony, and the remarkable genesis of that second Tony. So very well done ~ brilliant, as I said. Sad to think I've read through them all now...
katiealice49 chapter 1 . 8/17/2010
This is just begging for a sequel.

The dialogue was terrific; nothing like we've seen before, but believableall the same. You could practically hear them say it. Brilliant.
katos chapter 1 . 7/11/2010
Yowza! What a creative story. I loved the way you wove it into the continuity of the show. The whole thing was bizarre, deliciously twisted, and hot as hell. I love the way you wrote Carol and how she just made peace with the having this insane dual relationship with the same person. You have a very unique style and a strong voice, which I totally dig. Oh, and alley sex with Tony hmmm (thank you for that mental image).
lullabymoon chapter 1 . 3/4/2010
This is an amazing piece. It's gloriously well written, hot, dark and gives me goosebumps each time I read it.

Perfect.
hillevi chapter 1 . 2/14/2010
So good!

I wish you would wright the followup.
electric wannabe chapter 1 . 1/6/2010
Ok, holy crap. That was just about the hottest thing ever. And the sweetest. But the hotness is what mainly comes off, I think because it's a new concept for this darker Tony that needs... Well, just needs I suppose. He's so different yet so inherently him. I really adored how he seemed so shy hugging her after what we'd already seen him do. Very Tony. Also, I will actually pay you to write a sequel having Tony reawaken and come after Carol. Gah, I can just imagine it now aha. ;-) Perfection!
Odainath chapter 1 . 7/7/2009
I really liked this. Suitably dark and yet I could definitely believe every word.
syntaxe chapter 1 . 5/6/2009
A great read. Excellent characterisation of both Tony and Carol and credible development from cannon. Of course Tony is impotent and sexually dominant. Obviously he loves and hates the darkness. Yes, Carol needs both sides of him. Yeah, you think, this is how it goes. And hot. 'Fuck me like you mean it, Carol, or don't bother.' Um, yes. Something Tony would never say, and absolutely say.
greenovalfruit chapter 1 . 4/19/2009
Kinda twisted but that's half the fun, isn't it? I enjoyed that a lot. I knew Carol was a naughty thing, I knew it!
omnomnom17 chapter 1 . 2/11/2009
This is just brilliant. It is so wonderfully dark and creepy! I LOVE the idea behind it- of Tony being composed of two different personalities. It's genius. You've written Carol so perfectly too- her love and need for Tony is just beautifully portrayed. Just a fanstastic fic all round!
echidnoodle chapter 1 . 2/2/2009
Um, okay...

Wow. That was magnificent! The whole thing of Tony's weird quirks actually being two totally different people is fascinating. And the way you've written it gives it such credence and such... something. Like, you can actually see it making perfect sense.

The way you've tied it in with the plot lines throughout the series helps a lot. It's almost like the writers just didn't SCRIPT those bits, but they could still have happened.

I like, also, that it's as much about Carol's "baser instincts" as it is Tony's. She loves part of him, and needs the other, but that line is still blurred just enough to let her accept both relationships.

"When she is with her friend, Tony, she has to keep vigilance over her words lest she blurt out that she loves him over dinner. And with her lover, Tony, she has to fight her impulse to offer him her total submission."

These two lines sort of sum up the whole thing, to me.

The end was great. Again, the idea that the Tony who Carol left was only PART of his whole. That despite being the part she loved with everything she had, he wasn't enough; wasn't all of himself. Not only do we see Tony's darker side - and Carol is very blatant about it, the way you've written it - but we see his total separation. And not only does Carol accept that, she encourages it.

The way she associated it with his childhood for just a moment. Thought about why he was like that for almost no time at all, because she didn't really care. In her own way, Carol is almost... unlikeable. Yet I still am drawn into her mind and her passion so easily.

Honestly, this story is fantastic. I loved it. (If you can't tell...)

And extra points for using the word "rutted". I have quite honestly never heard that used before. At least not in that context.

Just... wow.

DeletedAcccount chapter 1 . 1/26/2009
Well that was just amazing. So powerful, I got goosebumps. Loved the fact that there was this mirrored side to Tony, and thought it provided a valid reason for Carol's sudden departure. The last few lines gave me shiver. The dark part of me is telling me to write that I hope dark Tony drags Carol back to our shores too. :P Sublime writing.
