Reviews for Final Fight: The Novel
Quillon42 chapter 7 . 12/8/2018
Well I guess Poison and Roxy just do not give up, now do they...this was a very nice adaptation although I would have liked a bit more of the passion of the Belger (ie description of his falling out the window and such...not to be too morbid or anything and stuff:))

I never understood why Guy punches Cody at the end...presumably just jealousy because of Jessica, but it seems so petty on his part and all. Ah well. Metro City is safe for now.
Quillon42 chapter 6 . 12/7/2018
Man Abigail is a pretty frightening customer and such. I looked him up just now and it says that he was added to SF5 and there was this whole thing with whether he was supposed to be from Holland or Canada; they decided on the latter. It's funny how Capcom has been trickling in all these fringe characters into the tournament fighters; I'll be damned (pun intended) if Damnd weren't added in...if he's not already in one of the SFs.

Looking forward to reading the end and seeing you adapt the fate of Belger and the crew.
Quillon42 chapter 5 . 12/6/2018
Well, for all this work that Guy does here I suppose he deserves a Gal of his own. No wonder why he punches Cody in the Credits. Honestly I always considered Rolento to be one of the more intriguing bosses in the game, as where does he get his seemingly superhuman speed from? Throughout the game he appears to be ostensibly the only superhuman around, or at least seemingly so. Looking forward to reading on and for the Gears to get theirs some more in the coming chapters.
Quillon42 chapter 4 . 12/5/2018
I might have gone off with Poison myself or perhaps with Roxy and forgotten all about Jessica:) Very nice here; I remember the part with all the Andores and I suppose that is another pop culture reference, isn't it (Andre the Giant and all); Boss Man was pretty heavy back in the day so I wonder if maybe Edi is at least somewhat based on him in turn.

Anyway I look forward to going to the Industrial Area next on the Final Fightinerary:)
Quillon42 chapter 3 . 12/4/2018
I've always been intrigued by the names of some of these characters as I said before (I think). Like, "Damnd" and "Sodom" and all...I understand that Capcom was trying to make them sound "bad" and all, but it's a bit goofily on the Biblical side like damnation and then Sodom and Gomorrah or something. So Sodom deep down was really just a Weeaboo? I need to read up on him; also I should check to see if he is in Slam Masters on SNES/Arcade.

Very good here in general with the use of many moves from the game and such. I look forward to the continuing trajectory through Metro City.
Quillon42 chapter 2 . 12/3/2018
Nice job here; Damnd always was so much a "Damned" coward pun intended and such, with the leaping away and whistling and all. Now that I think about it, I kind of wonder if there is in a parallel universe more games with Guy and Cody in them; I remember AVGN on Youtube said that Final Fight was originally supposed to be called "Street Fighter '89" and all. Cody I know is in SF4 and Guy is in Capcom Fighting Evolution and I believe SF Alpha (and then there's Final Fight Streetwise for more on the Travers Family and all))-still, I wonder if Capcom ever considered doing more with the two of them.
Quillon42 chapter 1 . 12/2/2018
I remember seeing the game Final Fight for the first time in arcades when I was like 11 years old (this was a couple of decades back and such). It was relatively rather risque for the time then. This is a good adaptation so far and I look forward to reading all the chapters in the coming days. I liked a lot of the repartee between the different bad guys especially (Damnd, Abigail, Edi E...wonder where they get these names...I know "Two P" is a Forgotten Worlds reference, and that Axl and Slash don't need explanation and all)...Also I need to read up on what happened to Cody as I know from SF4 he has a whole prison motif going on with him and all that.
Celestial Glowhead chapter 7 . 6/3/2018
Great closure. The fight run to get Belger was as exciting as the game made it and very joyous to read. Great going and brilliant thinking on the way you implemented gameplay details with fine precission and attention to make the action faithful yet creative. You wrote hell of a final boss fight and managed to make it work in this format, giving it some decent twists and spins. I really lol'd when Belger got off his chair, that was an epic but funny bit. That final takedown and the aftermath were gold. You must have had it easy with the ending, you were right at taking the one from the game in such a similar fashion, it already worked fine. I was happy with the conclussion, it helped me relive an awesome experience and it was perfect. Your novelization rocked the place, it was a marvelous success at making the game's story work in a different terrain. You have my gratitude plus support for future continuations and other works. It was the bomb hanging around you, man. Thumbs up and sending the best vibes on your way.
