lol, you say you felt bitter about season 6. I felt bitter about every season after 3, up to, and maybe especially when Michael Weatherly left. So I've mainlined fanfic for the past 10 years, lol! Anyway, this was wonderfully written, and you're absolutely correct, there was no continuity whatsoever with the show's characters, which was a horrible shame, as ALL of the actors deserved so much better. They became all but unrecognizable, when all of them could have very easily been crafted into something special if anyone had cared or bothered. Thank you for reminding me that there are highly talented writers here craft their stories for free, out of love for the characters and not a paycheck and the whims of whatever the fan base they think will bring the highest ratings.

This is one of my favorite NCIS fanfics.
At times, I wasn't sure if Tony was meant to be complex, multifaceted character-or if the writers just couldn't keep their plot points straight (I really hope it was the former).
This is a really great look at all the in-universe inconsistencies, how Tony puts on a different mask for everyone he meets.

I watched a few episodes here and there over the years but not enough to get a good sense of the characters. Then I found NCIS FanFiction after reading the Stargate crossover fics of Jilly James. So now I've been binging on NCIS through Netflix for the last 3 months. I can totally see several places where I feel like fans are justified in frustration or anger over how things have gone. I love the series. Just finished season 11 tonight as a matter of fact. But I'm so glad for a fandom that wishes things were different and isn't afraid to explore it. Thanks for writing!

Really, really brilliant. I'm in the middle of watching season six right now (after watching season four - holy mother of god). I just can't help but think that Tony is constantly under-estimated, under-rated, ignored, and misunderstood. By everybody. Except maybe Abby.

You've given a really nuanced, interesting perspective on how he fits - or doesn't fit - in the team.

Don't worry, your not the only one bitter about season six. The only good episode was Heartland, where we met Gibbs dad. Didn't much care for that whole season or so with Jeanne either. He really loved her.

Season Six was awful and highly disappointing. It almost (almost) made me want to stop watching the show. Seven is better, but I still think they are trying to get Zeva and Tony together way way way to hard. It shouldn't happen (or if they wanted it to happen, tried a long time ago). I just want Kate back (and Zeva gone. She's getting better but I am really really sick of her (and I like Tony (even whiney creepy stalker Tony) way more than I ever really liked her)). Poor Tim... Stuck in the middle of all this. I don't want Zeva to die simply because that would put her in the same place as Kate and Kate is way better than Zeva is. Zeva should just leave or Gibbs should just kick her out.( I mean (a long time ago but still) she tried to come in between him and Tony which just isn't right. Tony is Gibbs' second favorite, right after Abby. I never decided who came in third between Zeva and Tim, it depends on the day and who did what last.) Vance needs to go away also. He just does. He's been around as long as any other director so its time to. They ca kill him off as long as Tony isn't supposed to be guarding him. A male could actually die on NCIS!
