kitiku01 chapter 1 . 4/6/2016 I've read this story several times and it never fails to make me cry. Thank you for the lovely ending. Great story! |
Guest chapter 18 . 12/13/2015 First story I've routed for the main ship to die. I swear I spent all hours not reading this story coming up with essay-rants to both Draco and Harry for discouraging Harrys death. SO MANY ARGUEMENTS. GOD DAMN HARRY WHY COULDN'T YOU DIE SOONER YOU SUCK. »Problem 1: I won't smell anything. -Seriously you can get used to that YOU'RE WITH DRACO. »Problem 2: My family. - Ok this is dumb because you'll be in the painting. You'll remember your life. You'd be able to talk and watch them grow up. You might not be able to touch but from what I've seen you don't anyway. They can hug Ronald as a not-as-good-replacement seriously don't be selfish. »Problem 3: my family won't visit me. -YOULL HAVE DRACO and the only reason they didn't visit Draco is because they didn't bond with him This is a dumb comment and I haven't even started on Draco. The point is I don't see why they had to be opposed...I'm too obsessed. I wanted a few days of dead/painting Harry and he was too stubborn to die. Love this fanfic by the way 0.0 |
TheCauldron chapter 18 . 8/23/2015 *sobbing* this is so fucked up and beautiful! *stabs the fave button* |
nikitabell chapter 18 . 2/4/2015 This always make me cry no matter how many times I read it. |
Carling chapter 18 . 12/18/2013 Dang! One of the best love stories I'd ever read about any couple, not just "Drarry". I imagine there must be stories out there about magical portraits but I'd never come across any until this one. The reviewer who likened this story to "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" was not far off the mark. While the subject matter and the issues you had to deal with, including portraying what it's like to be a portrait are different, the core story of a love that can't be physically consummated until the death of the living partner remains the same and as fresh and fascinating as ever. While I complained of Harry's reaction and lack of forgiveness in your other story, More Than Ruin'd Hopes shall Mourn, I feel his reaction of betrayal is more warranted here and his slow recovery more reasonable and understandable. Because Draco's original crime would have been truly heinous and tangibly damaging to so many lives had he been able to carry it out. I can find no fault with Harry here and I quite adore him. I'm glad you more or less redeemed Lily and Ron. And of course, Malfoy Manor. It's good to see that grand ancient building with so much history become a proper family home filled with light and laughter. You did such a fantastic job of bringing a portrait to life and making him such a rich character. I do feel sorry that the real Draco did not see the error of his ways during his ten years of life in the manor. It's sad he went to his death with such burning hatred and malice in his heart. I can try to imagine that wherever his soul went, perhaps it got to benefit somehow from his portrait's afterlife lessons. At any rate, it was the portrait who lived this life and earned this redemption, so it's gratifying to see the portrait finally have his reward. |
kitiku01 chapter 18 . 12/9/2013 it's a long story but so touching... i love the way it still is a happy ending |
CleopatraIsMyName chapter 18 . 11/27/2013 Wow! Beautiful and haunting. Thank you |
DeiStarr chapter 18 . 6/14/2013 Ok, I want a sequel! Even just a oneshot would be sufficient. This whole story was a tease leading up to them being together and then as soon as they got together the curtain closed. It was too abrupt to be truly satisfying. That said... you're an incredible writer and this really is a masterpiece. It was very real. Normally this would be where I'd tell you what I loved about it, but I loved everything about it with the exception of the abruptness of the ending and the fact that it contained smut between Harry and someone besides Draco. (I'm a little anal-retentive about my OTP) |
Aline chapter 18 . 6/2/2013 I never liked Ginny (she being a whore wasn't a surprise), just miss George. I don't know if I miss something about him, like being dead. And I got really mad with Harry for have left poor Draco alone there, after the confession of his plan, for so long. I realized (just a detail) that despite the anger and feeling betrayal, Harry never asked where the poision was. And with the big number of kids, any of them could have found it and drank it. Besides, like the crybaby I am, I cryed all over my computer. Well, I got curious if Al or Scorpius wouldn't open the door and find the dead Harry and the Draco and Harry of the painting all over each other. That would be funny (minus Harry dead). If there is a stupid english mistake, forgive me please. I'm brazilian, so english is my second language and not used very fluently. From a Drarry fan :) |
TigerInTheMoonlight chapter 18 . 12/16/2012 I know this story is from years ago, but I just needed to review and say how much I loved it! Truly amazing! |
Sheri Contrary chapter 18 . 10/19/2012 This was one of the saddest and BEST fics I've ever read! Their growing relationship over the years was brilliant...and Harry's last minutes were heartbreakingly beautiful. You did an amazing job! Now...I'd like you to write the story of their afterlife...which I guess would be running parallel to the "life" they have going on in their portraits...because I'd like to see how the Harry that would be going there in 2090 would deal with the snarky Draco who's been there since...when? 2008? And...how would Harry look? He died at 110 years old, but Draco was only 28...I get why Harry looks young in the portrait...because he was painted that way...but how would he go to the afterlife? Hmm. Anyway, this fic is over three years old...doubt I'll get you to write a sequel (of sorts). *goes off to check your profile...maybe it's still there* |
