The greatest story is our own chapter 14 . 10/21/2019 ‘The light dipped erratically. Each time it moved away, the darkness of night drew back over a soldier's face like a shroud.’ Wow. Just wow. You have a beautiful writing style that had me captivated from the very start. I’m so glad that Lew found his brother and Leamon’s fate was changed, albeit for a short time. As the story progressed, I found myself caring about these two brothers almost as much as Sam and Dean. A brillIant story that could be twice the length, and I’d still be left wanting more. Definitely one I’ll read again - thank you for sharing! |
Jodiebo chapter 13 . 4/27/2019 Wow! This story was amazing & it was even more amazing to learn that your family was the inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing! |
Plumeria6 chapter 1 . 9/14/2018 Thank you for this story. It was well written, full of action and brotherly love. |
Iuvsbruce chapter 14 . 8/28/2018 This was totally amazing! I could see everything so clearly! What a fantastic and engrossing story! I will definitely favorite this and will read it again and again! Thank you so much and God bless you! |
hunenka chapter 14 . 7/8/2018 This was such a good fic. Riveting from the beginning to the end, with great characterization of both brothers, really great OCs, and very well-written altogether. I got totally lost in the story. Thank you! |
PerilousPie chapter 14 . 4/29/2018 This story just, oh my, it overwhelmed me. Way to make Supernatural relevant. I love history and I have this particular morbid fascination with military history. There is so much tied up in it, so much pain and yet so much opportunity to see people heighten themselves to deeds which could not be fathomed. Dire circumstances illuminate the most honorable and the most despicable actions. I love the Civil War especially, a war with no enemy. Hoe better to judge than when no one is vilified. Anyways, that story was brilliant! Attention to detail in historical accuracy palatable is the only thing which makes a historically ventured story palatable. I was enraptured! |
churchlady63 chapter 14 . 2/19/2018 First time reading your Supernatural stories. Im hooked. Now I have to watch the show to get to know the brothers. Only saw a couple when my daughter had it on. Wouldn't mind if you went to work on some new Combat! Or Rat Piatrol stories. Hint, hint. Thanks for writing. |
sunshine102897 chapter 14 . 3/14/2017 This story was absolutely amazing. The details and the writing- wow. I gotta admit, Quantum Leap was also my first fandom. I was in love with that show until it shattered my heart to pieces at the end. Big time brownie points for your mention of Beckett. Thank you so very much for writing! |
ukkichii chapter 5 . 1/28/2017 I find it a little hard to follow since I don't know about American history and its wars. There're also some words that I don't understand cz my english is not that good :p but the story's good I just can't stop reading |
O'MalleytheAlleyCat chapter 14 . 1/5/2017 That was probably one of the most amazing stories I've ever read on fanfiction. Wow. I loved that. |
Bookdancer chapter 14 . 9/18/2015 Wow... This was excellently told, and wonderfully planned out. I really loved Lew and Leamon's connection to Dean and Sam, and I'll admit... I was wondering if any of the characters were actually real, but I wasn't expecting all of them to be! Great job with this! |
Guest chapter 14 . 4/29/2015 Normally, I would call a fanfiction I particularly liked "brilliant." But your story is so much more than that! You gave your fiction a professional touch that took my emotions and made them one with the story. (Cheesy, I know, but bear with me.) For example: At the parts where Sam was worried and saddened about Dean's crossroads deal, my reaction wasn't like it had been while reading other tales about the same phenomenon. I actually felt the impending doom that comes with knowing that everything you've ever loved will soon be lost. (Not a good feeling at all, I assure you.) You also made the horrors of the Civil War so very real to the reader. Not every author can make a conversation between the Winchesters work, but to have that conversation occur while also describing the horrible sounds of an army hospital? Genius. (The limb pile was a good touch, but my queasy stomach didn't care for the details.) And to top it all off, the story has real-life origins. Thank you for making my life complete. |
CornishGirl chapter 14 . 10/21/2014 This was a truly outstanding story. Knowing it's based on your own ancestor makes it doubly fascinating. And that it's true Civil War history woven through this story makes everything Dean and Sam do feel real, not "just" fun fanfic. Well done! |
Ms.GrahamCracker chapter 14 . 8/8/2014 Breathtaking on every level. A masterpiece of history, drama, brotherly love and devotion. Using Lew and Leamon as counterparts to Dean and Sam was inspiring and the very best part was the fact that the entire story was rooted in your family history. Thank you for sharing that with us. |
Rebegirl chapter 14 . 7/24/2014 What an amazing story! I love a nice long multi-chapter story as long as it is well written and interesting. And man oh man, this one is perfect. I could not stop reading. Every chapter kept me glued to the computer. |
