Aaaand there is a second chapter. Oh Dean…he’s just so miserable, and I love it. And that sounds so terrible. I like the ending a lot too:)
okayokayokay chapter 1 . 11/30/2010
So, here I am, stalking your page, when I came across this, which I HAVE NOT READ BEFORE. How did this happen? I thought of it as a good thing, because a) I can read it NOW, and b) there are probably more of your fics that I haven’t read yet and that makes me ridiculously happy.

Dean, sneezy, with a broken rib, and Sam making him soup? What is not to love?

And I love a whole bunch of things about this, but this part especially: Dean's jaw clenches, his chin jutting out just a little. "I am not kittens," he asserts, his voice gravelly and congested. Something seems to occur to him, wheels turning behind dark-ringed eyes, and he points a finger skyward. "Except maybe if they're tiger kittens." His eyes go squinty and he sucks in an urgent breath, then twists away and sneezes juicily into his elbow, following it up with a series of rough coughs. Sam can see sweat on the back of his neck.

Aw man, this whole piece was like candy on my tongue. I'm going to save it and read it when I need a warm fuzzy place. *contented sigh*

Enkidu07 chapter 2 . 5/26/2009
This is full of so many great images :) *smishes it and then smishes you*

I really like this one: The tissue box is cornflower blue, dangling by Dean's hip.

I can picture him, weary, shoulders a little slumped, tired, box just dangling, probably not even really remembering he's holding onto it.

I also like the end of Sam's prayer when he says: For Anne. Okay?" Really shows that he isn't really sure and like he is asking God for permission. Made me laugh.

And I like that Dean is griping that Sam dragged him out there and Sam's retort is: "I believe your exact words were, 'Sammy, don't leave me.'" LAUGHING.

Great job and I love this continuation. Dean seems... deep when he is feverish and hurting and Sam is good at parsing out what he is really trying to say.
InSecret chapter 2 . 5/20/2009
I'm so crap for not reviewing this earlier. I was so thrilled to see a conclusion. I re-read chapter one not too long ago, so the story was still fresh and lovely in my mind. Don't ever stop writing sick Dean, okay? If you do, I'll, like, totally hunt you down. And then... chicken out of doing anything serious. Maybe glare fiercely? But that's about it. Ooh, you're totally shaking in your boots. *smishes*
Liafrombrazil chapter 2 . 5/13/2009
Tangle! I knew you'd finish it sooner or later. I've been waiting and it was totally worth the wait. It's always a pleasure to read chapter one again and I loved chapter 2.

Dean looking at the pills "like they're a miraculous last sausage hidden away at the back of the grill..." made me laugh out loud.

All's perfect - sick and broken Dean concerned about Sam, Sam bringing kleenex and pills for his brother (so cute). From the beginning to the end, every line's just in the right place and sounds exactly like them.

Thank you, again.
Impaladreams chapter 1 . 5/12/2009
That was delightful...I missed the drabble but I'm so pleased you turned it into this. So nice to see the brothers taking care of each other, poor Dean is a rather prrly snotty heap and I really appreciate how painful a broken rib is! Coughing, sneezing so not what you want to be doing with a cracked rib.

My mum used to swear by chicken soup as a cure all and it's ood to see it's working it's magic on our boy! Sammy is wonderful as the Florence Nightingale of the team, I do love caring Sam!

PADavis chapter 2 . 5/12/2009
I'm also grateful to Rebel and sidjack for poking you - I reread the first chapter, then read this new one a time or two. Couldn't love it more, from the 'why did you drag me out here' to the ambiguous end.

Twinchy chapter 2 . 5/11/2009
I love it when the boys go creative on a ritual like in this story too. *beams*

And Sammy still had a pack of hankies and pills for Dean when the older brother was sniffling that bad. Sweet!
