A fab fic! Really well written! Like Unfollowthesun has said, I was a bit unsure about whether to read this story with it being from Brigitta's point of view, don't know why, silly really when I think about it. Lols Maybe I didn't think there would be enough Maria/Georg content in it to hold my interest, but I was wrong. In fact, it's getting added to my Favourites list :D

This is wonderful! You came up with a perfectly reasonable explanation for why six children, some of them quite old for it, apparently share the same phobia, as well as for how they end up seeking refuge in the room of someone that most of them don't even, thus far, like.

I can't wait to see what happens next!

I loved that you have Maria apologising for leaving without saying goodbye and acknowledging how devastating that would have been to already vulnerable children who have experienced such bereavement before.

The story does not have a complete tag on it and I know you started it ten years ago but I still hope there will be more. You did a brilliant job of putting us in Brigitta's shoes and seeing the whole story through her perspective. This was such a delightfully enjoyable read (it surprised me that I loved it so much even though there was very little about the romance between Maria and Georg).
I absolutely loved it.

My heart broke into tiny pieces as the children digested the news that Fraulein Maria has gone. They are as bereaved as if they had lost their mother all over again. Even sweet little Marta is so traumatised she lashes out.
I was a big puddle of sadness reading this part.

Marvellous replaying of the rowboat scene from Brigitta's point of view. I love how you describe Elsa as a perfect pretty painting in a museum.
It was brilliant the way you describe how overwrought all the children are as they realise that Maria is going to be sent away. Brigitta's sense of despair and anguish is palpable.

I remember discovering this story a few years ago when I first came across fan fiction and absolutely loving it. I feel guilty I never wrote reviews for it.
You have done such an amazing job of telling the story through Brigitta's eyes. You have captured her personality so well and I loved all the interactions with the other children and with Maria.
It is a gem of a story.

Hi, just wanted to quickly point out that the children would not have been educated at school. Upper class Austrian children in the 1940s were schooled at home. They were taught by a governess who is essentially just a teacher who would care for the children as well. Also, "recess" is a very americanised word. Not an Austrian one. Even if the children did attend school, then they would have a few hours of lessons (history, latin, maths) and then return home. Great job on the story!

You did a great job writing this story from Brigitta's eyes. I especially liked how you added scenes from canon, but didn't take away from what WAS canon. I've always loved secondary POV stories, so this was wonderful.

I love this story. It is beautifully written. It portrays Brigitta's point of view wonderfully. Please do continue. Your writing is superb.

EXCEPTIONAL writing - I like the bickering between Louisa & Brigitta, the sibling rivalry based on jockeying for attention from Maria. It is touching when Brigitta asks whether Maria left cos of the frog as well. I LOVE it all - too many good things to mention.

This is beautifully written! It's strange I wasn't sure I'd be bowled over by this story because it's written from one of the children's POV and my favourite tales usually revolve around Captain von Trapp/Maria interactions, but you've won me over big time. This is now one of my favourites as it is so cleverly constructed. 5 stars! Hope you write more SOM stories soon...you're too talented not to :)
