lilyflower101 chapter 10 . 9/10/2016 Could you write a story in detail on his stay with Snape. Pretty please with potions on top? |
LBibliophile chapter 10 . 11/20/2014 This was a very thought provoking fic. It was interesting seeing the effect Harry's and Snape's lives have on them, particularly looking at it from a muggle perspective without the magical context providing excuses. You new definition of 'fine' really struck me; I now think of that whenever Harry uses it in other fics. |
TheLittleDarkFox chapter 10 . 8/18/2014 I stumbled upon this whilst reading a fic posted by Casyn and I'm very glad I did. I think your writing is fantastic, both Harry and Severus felt very true to canon whilst the story itself felt fresh and stood out from other Harry and Snape fics I've read. I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed reading this. |
JWOHPfan chapter 10 . 4/17/2014 Though it's been nearly 6 years since you wrote this story, I just found and read it, I and truly think you should write a sequel. Many, including myself, just might find it helpful, as I found this story to be. Well done! |
Anon chapter 3 . 10/24/2013 Well done so far! |
wolfish-willow chapter 10 . 9/18/2013 I didn't even know I wanted a story like this until I read it, but yessss. Thank you! I was actually just thinking, going through a bunch of hurt/comfort fics in an effort to find something to read tonight, that I don't quite understand fics with abused!Harry that end up having corporal punishment in it because of the repercussions it could have on him later. I even started reading a story that was supposed to be mentor/guardian!Snape, who takes guardianship from the Dursleys and then continues to verbally abuse Harry. Sorry, rant over. It's just so great to have found a fic where Harry is effected by the way he was treated, both by his family and the Wizarding World/his new guardian. I only wish it could have gone on and on and on. :D Love it! |
history chapter 10 . 3/20/2012 It is really a beautiful story! I really love that you talk about a subjet so diffuclt : the abuse of Harry. What i really love is that show that the wizarding world doesn't do anything for the abuse of Harry (and Severus). I'm often suprised by how Harry was treated (and he is not the only one ,voldemort, serveurs are abused child too). The fact that nobody try to do something against htis abuse is choking ( i think what the most shoking is Hermione : how can she want to help the elf and other specie and not his friend Harry. Perhaps she doesn't want to see that but she sees the abuse of the elf. I think that perhaps the author wrote a book for child but i don't understand why she doesn't treat it right . |
sammyfish chapter 10 . 4/20/2011 Wow. Well done. Not what I expected, but good nonetheless/ |
silverbirch chapter 10 . 10/10/2010 I had this recommended to me because I'm writing (trying to write!) a story where Seamus has drifted into alcoholism as a painkiller to forget other issues he has. It has certainly helped get a few things clearer in my mind so if I ever finish my things you will be acknowledged. I also enjoyed reading it, I should say. There are some very good "all was not well" pieces being written at the moment (have you come across Vera Rozalsky? Sheer genius.)that are great improvement on the original on occasions. I think you were right to keep Rona and Hermione out of the story. He needed that anonimity to deal with his issues which were far more than just what happened in the seven books. So, is this canon or fanon Snape? I don't know, because I'm not convinced Rowling understood him. Part of his treatment of Harry obviously came from his hatred of James, part from his love of Lily. He saw Harry as his father's son - and wasn't too far from the truth. Both Harry and James were not the wonderful people they are often portrayed as. Snape is also a teacher we see too often. He loves - and understands - his subject but hates the pupils becasue they don't show it the reverence it deserves. Even Hermione didn't necessarily understand what she was doing, but could memorise the books. She was an artisan rather than craftsman. So, he gets into a cycle where he is unable to transfer his love to the pupils. A good, very well written and thoughtful story. I'm very glad it was pointed out to me. |
Harriverse chapter 10 . 10/8/2010 I like the gentle tone of your piece. The gradualness makes it seem realistic. That you grant Severus the opportunity to heal as well adds a nice symmetry to the story. |
anon chapter 1 . 9/28/2010 Good chapter! Keep writing! |
TheMightyKoosh chapter 9 . 6/22/2010 I really liked this story and just read it for the second time and couldn't remember if I'd reviewed or not. It told me I had. But I'm going to again, because I think it was just that good. :D |
BriiDream chapter 10 . 6/12/2010 This was a great read-emotionally deep. I love the idea of both Harry and Snape getting over their past scars and accepting themselves. |
To-AntigoneEvenstar chapter 10 . 3/4/2010 I like this...it's different from the usual Severus and Harry fic. Rather refreshing. |
Marj123 chapter 10 . 1/26/2010 Well written. |
