ngregory763 chapter 4 . 5/9/2018 What an original work of art this was! I really enjoyed how well you nailed them in the first season, getting to know each other again, slipping into old roles. The monsters were so well done and creepily erotic even (toilet tentacle anyone?). The dialog was quick witted and fun to read as well...I'm kinda sad it's over. |
Vampyvii chapter 3 . 1/7/2016 Supernatural Fan Fiction Monthly Awards Review: I remember reading this way back in 2008 when you published it, and I can safely say that your story has lost absolutely none of its punch. It's so very imaginative, the writing controlled, the characters spot on, practically jumping off the page, and your care for "Supernatural" shines through every step of the way! I could well see this being run as an episode, and I'm very, very happy to re-visit this after all these years! |
silver ruffian chapter 4 . 12/26/2015 Supernatural Fan Fiction Monthly Awards Review: December 2015 Wow. In the hands of a lesser writer that bathroom scene with the tentacles would have been really uncomfortable, but you pulled it off. Not too much information, but just enough. Bravo! The scenes with Sam and Dean and Ana were bittersweet. Just the right touch of melancholy. The word pictures, the phrases, and the plot were all extremely enjoyable and skillfully done. I really enjoyed this story. |
silver ruffian chapter 3 . 12/26/2015 Supernatural Fan Fiction Monthly Awards Review: December 2015 More vivid visuals. I have to admit I was tickled by the idea of the river slug and Dean's reaction to it. And John is certainly present in this story as well, even though he never actually shows up. I liked that touch. Dean's handling of Sam and his sad moods (about Jessica) was completely believable. The switch between Sam and Dean's POV is always clear and well done. |
silver ruffian chapter 2 . 12/26/2015 Supernatural Fan Fiction Monthly Awards Review: December 2015 I would have loved to have seen this story adapted for the show. The pop culture references are skillfully inserted. I never got the feeling that this was an information dump. And I continue to be amused by Dean and Sam. You really nailed their characters. The visual of Dean being the "Dub Master" was well done and totally eerie. And the idea of Dean being affected by the supernatural like that was totally surprising. I enjoyed seeing Sam learn something new about Dean after their time apart from each other. |
silver ruffian chapter 1 . 12/26/2015 Supernatural Fan Fiction Monthly Awards Review: December 2015 I was hooked by this story from the opening line about the carnage in the pet shop. Your characterization of Sam and Dean is spot on. I can hear Jensen and Jared speak the dialogue. The supporting characters are well drawn and the descriptions of the town are totally believable and vivid. |
BlackIceWitch chapter 4 . 12/23/2015 Supernatural Fan Fiction Monthly Awards : December 2015 Intense. Imaginative. Surprising. Groan-worthy. Clever. Unique, unquestionably. The narrative voice was a fascinating character in its own right, snidely looking at the characters with the careless certainty of very long-term familiarity, giving away no points or favours to anyone and overloaded with every simile under the Californian sun. It felt like a deliberate choice, a world-weary film noir character, seen and done it all, and utterly lacking in compassion for the hapless players. Weaving in solid original characters and film plot events effortlessly, the haunting - the taunting? - was exceptional, something I find typical of your work, giving all the necessary clues and all the necessary information, in unforeseeable and startling clumps of character thought, memory, emotion and action. Plot took precedence over everything else, and for the story, that worked well enough, how it would all end being the usual page-turner. |
MarleeJames chapter 4 . 12/5/2015 This is the sort of story you can never get out of your mind and that you just have to read over and over. The writing's fantastic, so very original in voice, and the story is incredible. Such a wonderful read, thank you! |
Freya922 chapter 4 . 9/22/2015 This was incredibly entertaining, scary, tittilating (tentacles!), and hilarious all at once. |
Freya922 chapter 1 . 9/19/2015 I enjoy the hell out of your writing. The stories engage me immediately, with distinctive settings and intriguing plots. I could almost feel the dry heat in Buttonwillow, see that old theater. Sam and Dean of S1 are perfectly portrayed, and I simply revel in your gifted turns of phrase such as: "Dean's head popped back up, like a meerkat on the Kalahari." love it. |
Heartless BytchhakaHelenBach1 chapter 4 . 11/27/2011 I haven't seen any of these movies so I think I may have missed some of the nuances there. But I really enjoyed the poolside scene with Ana and the brothers having the subtitles. You have written a funny story here with some real talent. Thanks for sharing and letting me enjoy your work. Next time, next roadtrip, BigPink. :) As far as the bathroom scene? Sometimes the words NOT said say more. lol "So," Dean said, after many miles. "Yeah," Sam replied, eyes out the window,"... |
Heartless BytchhakaHelenBach1 chapter 3 . 11/26/2011 "Sam snorted. "Yeah? How would you know that, Marty?" Yup, that's the Sam we all know and love. "Wonder if I get a free fill-up out of it?" Oh Dean, you ol' horndawg. You don't let reality interfere much with your inner porn, do ya? :P He kept seated, wasn't going to stand for a minute or two. That's right, Dean. You go ahead, sit there. We know why. "We kinda need to see Lucky so that we can get Lucky." Have I mentioned how much I love Dean's snarkasm? Tentacles! You brought some real fun toys on this trip! I'd heard about tentacle porn fic but wow. I thought it was a mythical creature like unicorns and stuff. Thanks for the mental images. LOL "and — whoa!" lolzzz, too late Dude. You've done been zoomed. " I should do something. " Somehow, I don't think that's an option anymore. |
Heartless BytchhakaHelenBach1 chapter 2 . 11/26/2011 Wow, what a steamy sex scene! *izzit hawtt in here?* " "Oh, Marty."" *record skips badly* What? As in Marty McFly? Oh no no no no, you did not just go there. lol You did. "One of Dean's randy adventures gone wrong." Understatement much? Hifrikknlarious. I love it. "but you've got some explaining to do."He's a freakin' marksman, and I'm pretty sure he's armed." Stop! Stop! My ribs are hurting now. It's all your fault! this iz some srsly funnay bizness. Dub Master Dean is just so wrong on so many levels. *shakes head* *laffs even more* Thank you for this wonderfully funny chapter. I absolutely loved it and laughed all the way through it. |
Heartless BytchhakaHelenBach1 chapter 1 . 11/26/2011 I really enjoyed reading the first chapter. The banter between the brothers was 't wait to see where you take us from here. This is going to be an enjoyable roadtrip with you. I can already tell. Hey! Ho! Let's go! |
Bartlebead chapter 4 . 12/13/2010 Very, very funny, and a clever ending. The tentacles remind me a little of Galaxy Quest or Lexx - in a good way. :-) |
