I honestly have a bit of trouble with the concept of an openly military group going about kidnapping confirmed US citizens for experimentation in this age of 'everyone has a camera, phone, internet' level of electronics.

The initiative I believe they got the work around due to all the soldiers being 'seconded' to a civilian agency, thus being 'agents' during that time. Though the Op was still illegal, though Oz is the only actual citizen I can recall them grabbing and he was a wolf at the time I think. The others were all vamps or demons full time.

This though, a US General, US troops wearing dog tags and so on that ID them as *current* US troops, operating on US soil, that's openly against the Constitution. And these girls aren't supernatural creatures with no paper trail. They're born and raised citizens, most with families and friends.

And someone has authorized them being kidnapped and cut into and experimented on, for more than a year, and no one has been arrested yet? Because this is about as against the law as you can get, even if they believe them to be terrorists.

Fucks sake, they had to keep foreign born terrorist suspects locked up in Gitmo, outside US soil to get away with water boarding as long as they managed that, and even then they got caught and got some heat.

the headline 'US Military experimenting on teenage girls' or even just that they're running ANY military op on US soil would see people jailed.

Fantastic story, a tad sad for Buffy, but still awesome story.

My first comment is, IMO Buffy becomes so unlikable later in the series that even if she wanted Xander I really don't think he'd take her back. But here you made her Buffy-without-the-attitude and it's sad she doesn't get her happy ending.

You should have had Chloe in the Epilogue. As it is, you didn't resolve her story. Also your timeline is about a year off as to when Clark became Supes. Kara was not mentioned, although the Braniac thing would have been complicated. Seeing a confronation between Buffy and Braniac would have been interesting.

I personally prefer Xander/Dawn but whatevs

Okay so, Dawn gets hurt in Chicago, and they take her to a place several hours away? Hee. Can't wait to see what happens next.

I loved it! It didn't feel quite ... complete, but I did love the epilogue :-)

I have really loved this story and hope you do a sequel. I really want to know what happens with Genral Lane and if Xander actually makes it to the alter. I would also really love to see Buffy paired with a Man of her own to love and care for her. She deserves it a lot. Also so does Faith.

I'm really enjoying this fic, I think your chracter matching is just right as it is in all of your stories. I was wondering if you intend on updating any of your other Fics, in particular "From here to Serenity" and "More than a calling". I tried looking on your live journal but to be honest those things confuse me! Look forward to more soon.

I have to say I am really liking this story a lot. I even like the possible pairing of Xander and Lucy. I feel for Buffy but timeing sucks. More soon please. I love to see her have a good match up as well. Oliver seems like a great possibility.
