I love how this is forlorn and nostalgic and happy all at the same time. I think without meaning to it says a lot about mortality - how the characters wish for the past but still move forward and its really actually the same as the past, just a little bit different, and can really stay that way for a long time too.

In any case this was well written and has the right poetic touch. I especially liked the last line which seemed very nostalgic.

This was so beautiful! You do a great job of describing the lovely unspoken depth in Dick's relationships with the people he loves, especially Bruce. The silent, invisible laughter they both remember really seemed to capture something poignant; there's so much they don't need to say to each other, and you did a great job of showing that. The breakfast scene, with all its little nuances, really gave off a sense of hum-drum everyday happiness. And the banter you wrote for Tim and Dick was great, too. I loved the line: "I'm annoying, not underhanded." And the fact that Dick is impressed by Tim's willingness both to "stand down" at the right times, and to be open about his feelings in ways no one else is, really says a lot about both characters. And I love that Dick is still looking for Batman's trick on the route home, that's as it should be :)

I really love the way you write these characters. Thanks so much for sharing your stories!

That's just gorgeous. SO well written, so strong... the characterizations are perfect, and everything walks a line between comforting and edgy that is SO classic Batman. Perfect.

I adore Dick... the classics are the best. Thank you for sharing this!
