Reviews for The Key to Summer
Lantzz chapter 1 . 5/2/2019
I am curious if anyone actually reads any of the info or opinions before they start sproutng off. in case those complaining about author summaries or begging for more chapters bothered to look it's been FIVE years since the latest written word here they aren't going to continue.
Pika5490 chapter 4 . 3/29/2018
Wanna know what I'd like? A freaking summary. I don't CARE if YOU don't like it, I, for one, DO! For Frick's sake, I just wanna know what the hell this is about. Without a summary any fanfic would be a confusing mess of wtf is this about.
Pika5490 chapter 3 . 3/29/2018
all I can imagine is Voldemort in a therapists chair with harry laying on a couch mourning over his lost trust in ol dumbles and the Weasleys. dunno why
TheHuntresss chapter 8 . 2/4/2018
Ok putting everything into his trust or family vault is stupid when he knows that dumbledore has been playing fast and loose with it/them.
Nemaya chapter 6 . 6/23/2016
I really like the song you wrote. I have to tell you I found this story through plagiarism, sadly. I found them (hazel7) through the filters and the story on their profile is up to this chapter. When I went to see what else they had written, I recognised stories I knew to be written by other people, so I reported them (which was a few minutes ago). With that in mind, I searched for the title and ended up here. Now I can read on.
k4m3j0 chapter 14 . 6/2/2016
Great story! I never would have found this without that jackass reposting it.
Guest chapter 9 . 8/30/2015
This is all way too confusing.
Runecutter chapter 14 . 3/6/2014
An impressive confrontation making perfect sense and adding a lot of trouble to their already so hopeless quest... It's just so frustrating that now they have to struggle whom they take into their confidence and whom not... telling about the potion would have shut Ron up easily, but then the explanations would have hurt and made things even more complicated than just "there's nothing". I understand that, but still, it is really a bad situation to read about and think what they must go through.

Doesn't help that Tonks came on pretty harsh against Harry after his blacking out (oh what an awful pun) so shortly after they almost had a cute scene in their hidden cubicle in the library... confusing signals everywhere they go and look...
Runecutter chapter 13 . 3/6/2014
What? "Why did you not write?" Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?
He was only trying to survive without the shady guy SHE lives in the headquarters of most of the time and is just starting to go out with one of the staunchest supporters getting any haunch about where he was hiding and she wonders why that might have been a far superior reason than when she herself did not write over TWO summers just on "it's for his own best to keep him out of the loop". Lusting after Ron's (presumably) shapely butt really made her stupid!

The method of him taking up his - birthright was fascinating and made a great scene. I'm just growing more and more unhappy with the name "blood law" it sounds like something between a cheap Jean-Claude VanDamme movie, a lethal viking ritual and a post apocalyptic scenario involving cangaroo courts...

Not putting too much weight on politics though sounds lovely. They are there, they will play a role, but it's nothing Harry enjoys doing so it will be a sidenote rather than his daily main occupation... perfectly fine with that :)
Runecutter chapter 12 . 3/5/2014
I'm not sure i approve of all the decisions Harry made in his rush to get rid of the Black Lordship and regain his own house... for example, why it might seem a bit overly cliché-burdened there's a lot to say for reinstating Andromeda Tonks into the House of Black and Nymphadora too. And with the connections from the tapestry in mind there are a lot of families related to the Blacks and thus "family"... from the Weasleys over the Longbottoms (Having maybe Andy Tonks and Augusta Longbottom sit two of the Proxys for life would kind of ensure Harry had still seven seats going with all reasonable decisions he'd make as Lord Potter, so the switch would not really give him less than he started out with or Sirius intended him to wield) to the Crouches there should be many people that would completely satisfy any demands of the family law and still stand apart from any doubt about dark motives. If Narcissa is honest about just aiming at getting the Blacks out of the edge the family painted itself into by preferring the Dark Side she should be willing to make some deals like a limit on how many seats the extended Malfoy family could hold itself, reserving a third of the proxy's each for purebloods, half-bloods and muggleborns of valid honor and family standing for a certain time or number of generations. Securing the loyalties of her mixed set of proxys would then be up to Lady Black...
Or there could be an offer of alliance in the play to bind Blacks and Potters to the goal of defending the wizarding world against ANY threat that could endanger the existence of the families or the future existence of the wizarding world per se.
Just shaking hands, looking into her head for some days and hoping for the best doesn't even start to cut it for my tastes. Even more with shrewd and callous counselors like Scrimgeour and Moody at his beckon and maybe a chance to ask Amelia Bones for additional input before jumping into things.

I don't say Narcissa was a bad choice, she's got a good standing in the pureblood camp and so kind of the "parliament creds" to make a good job, she's more centered in the house and its heritage than Harry could ever hope to be and she seems to be naturally Slytherin in a good way, also a thing Harry cannot really claim even after this sneaky summer... but there should be checks and balances, safeguards and insurance policies so she can't run haywire with the house and once more change it into something Sirius could never be proud of just because it seemed politically more convenient...
Runecutter chapter 10 . 3/3/2014
Finally a Scrimgeour that is not completely absorbed in the grasp for power after Fudge loses his post and support... I like the food for thought he gives in his short scene with Percy. It could almost redeem him after leading the team that arrested Tonks in the first place, if he really wanted all the time to find out who drew the strings to get her jailed i could respect him. Let's see.
Runecutter chapter 9 . 3/2/2014
Some questions i have everytime somebody uses the movie version of Moony's transformation:
Why did Lupin transform inside the Shrieking Shack every full moon he was hidden there when he was at school (We know he did as that's the reason for the Shrieking part of the name and the rumors of it being haunted according to PoA) if it needs direct moon light to trigger the transformation? Why use the shack at all if solid walls or being underground protects you? The school must have dozens of windowless rooms down in the dungeons that would be ideal for such a purpose!

Therefore the delayed transformation both in book and movie must be normal and a matter of timing. LIke you have some kind of leeway during the first 1/3 of the moon rising over your (theoretical) horizon where you CAN transform but are not really forced to, then a time where you must change even if you do not want and logic would dictate that if there is a grey phase in the beginning it would also have some "can but need not to" time towards the end... This time of course in the other direction as the wolf might feel pretty okay with being a wolf and would not see any need to change back into a feeble and vulnerable human form...

So while somebody like Greyback might bask in the glory of twelve hours transformed, an unwilling were like Lupin would only have to heed the call of nature for let's say 6-7 hours and could resist the rest of the time. That the transformation in that night coincided with him stepping out in the moonlight was unfortunate, but what would have happened if they had mistimed it by as little as ten minutes and the change would have taken place in the tunnel or the shack?

A pity they have not yet met some Death Eater resistance... wouldn't it have been nice to stop the "distraction" after fifteen or twenty minutes by time activating one of the famous escape portkeys and drop our irritated and uncontrollable Moony right inside a Death Eater lair/safehouse? :P
Runecutter chapter 8 . 3/1/2014
A little bit too much angst for my tastes... Although the little detour with Narcissa feels pretty awesome, after all she's still a major candidate for the letter by "N" and the episode with Draco playing with poisons isn't forgotten either... to make it so spectacular and yet free of consequences was a good twist.

Then the angststorm began. What the heck happened there? So much dread and depression... I give you that some things needed saying, but to present them so ... condensed, wasn't probably the smartest way to go along with it.
And someone some day should stop Molly from making assumptions about personal freedoms like a private opinion. Others are entitled to having one too and she is invited to very well keep hers secret from us, sharing is not required. Sharing it loudly and openly among "polite company" and shouting down all diverting opinions is certainly discouraged most sternly. Nobody really can like a person constantly turning in her very own bipedal Howler.

As for the end... Dun-Dun-dunnnn... a wonderful cliffhanger, even though i'm already at the point where the ministry guys as a whole can go and hang themselves for all i care about them... Sending Umbridge and having her threaten Amelia was bad enough. Sending five Aurors to detain Tonks was the height of brainless. Do they realize that they are irritating an eighth of their own parliament in form of this already pissed off youth? The Prophet may be influenced by more than just Fudge's empty headedness, but to arrest a member of his newly taken up HOUSE?
Runecutter chapter 7 . 3/1/2014
Well this was certainly something other. I enjoyed the entertainment value presented by the slightly unusual format and content of the will reading, it becomes so bothersome to stay with the fandom classics all the time, an accusation nobody could wield towards this story.

in other words: what a delicious chaos you've wrought and may a lot more of that come.
Runecutter chapter 6 . 3/1/2014
Belief does not make a man great, wise, just or innocent. The most horrible things in human history have been done in the name of beliefs and those people certainly were NOT good, not admirable, not free of guilt for their deeds. If Dumbledore really forged Voldemort into the ruthless killer he nowadays appears to be he is a very special kind of monster and if he can't see that himself it makes the thing all the more disturbing.

I hope Nymphadora does not make a grievous error with setting Harry's priorities like this. As i interprete your hints and pieces of information right now he has lost control of his first deadly weapon and does not want to repeat this "mistake". So he will not think twice about breaking and destroying Harry should he somehow get rid of Riddle early and unexpected. For the greater good of course. And his own peace of mind.
