Let's flame the competition ;)

I really liked it. Serra was her usual moany little self complete with the wish to make Karel hers despite the fact that he'd sooner cut her in half than kiss her, and Karel is bloodthirsty and all that. He might as well marry his sword. Everyone's in character and I laughed at some parts. Matthew was funny. Sacrificing himself to save Serra from Karel, how selfless of him (especially when he probably hates the idea of being Serra's manslave). My only complaint is that I wanted to see more. You got me all interested but I get off feeling like the story's too short and that some things have been merely touched upon. More, I say, more!

well, i loved it, except for...um...MatthewSerra-ish ness...okay, i'm just not too fond of it...but then, i can't say anything, i wrote a MattSerra too...

"But it doesn’t look like here, he looked, well, he looked striking." It looks fine that way,but I kinda prefer "it didn't look like" instead of "doesn't",because of the next sentence...I'm weird like that.

Well I think that my advice to you is there are a few typo-ish errors you might want to fix, and Matthew seemed really quite panicky but actually I understand if it were in that kind of situation so never mind that.

But anyways, story-wise:

Ah the ending was so sad and yet so pretty in a sense. Seriously, what the heck, I almost wasn't expecting that and at the same time I was and I almost cried :'D Oh my

This was a great story and good luck on the contest, hope you win something! I almost tried it out myself but I don't know if I'd think up a decent idea by then... so kudos to you for being able to think up something interesting on such an interesting pairing!

The ending make me sad. But it was so poetic and just so... so PRETTY. Good job!

I must say, Serra had me on laughing fits quite frequently but at the same time I was thinking-while chuckling- "This can't end well...".

Very lovely ending, it was almost poetic in a sense. Shame about Karel and Serra but you handled their 'relationship' wonderfully.

Love it. Absolutely loved it. Serra cracked me up and Karel, well, was being Karel, the amazing, kick-arse swordsmaster he is. Seeing how this cliffhanger is tantilizing me, I'm thoroughly stoked when Serra learns a bit of Light magic and confronts Karel later. That shall be interesting.
