Secondly; Yeah, no. Nobody can check your criminal record in the UK, not even employers. With SOME exceptions, namely schools, hospitals and other goverment institution like the cops.

All they need to do is move and they can easily get jobs. Albeith not anything that pays as well, since vernon DID use to run his own company, and working for others never pay that much, especially considering his area of expertice.

Dudley and petunia would have a harder time, since they have no job experience (which you need to get a job, even if you can't get work experience before work.) Although, admittingly, it depends on how many competitors there is for the job.

If you ever decide to write one in which Harry is either raised by Rincewind or reads about him and realize being a hero is stupid, and running in the other direction and throwing other people in front of the beast will keep you alive... PLEASE tell me!

(Unless he also follow the canon story blindly with zero regards for logical consequences and personality change, in which case, don't. Cuz that's just stupid. And irritating.)

Perfect story. All Harry needed was the right companion to come up on top. The Luggage, right after DEATH, is my favorite character in Discworld. I was pleased that it got an appreciative, loving home.

Giggle giggle giggle. I loved the bit with the dragon ALMOST best... until it got to the point of Harry being tied up in the graveyard and having to smother his laughter as the Luggage Of Doom snuck up behind Lord Voldemort. Very well done!

This was fun. Creative use of the cross-over trunk idea. I was curious who you might have picked for Harry to rescue under water. Also, 25 years in one place changed to half a century somewhere else.
