This is so well-written and romantic. You do a great job of showing how Derek is infatuated with Meredith. I'd never noticed before how their love story fits the lyrics to that song.

Great story! I love learning what happened between scenes on the show, and what they were thinking/feeling.

Your take was realistic and true to character. And finally someone is showing me that Derek WAS thinking about Addison and Mark during the early part of the Mer/Der encounters and the loss he felt while still feeling rejuvenated by Meredith.

I first read this on LJ but I usually prefer to leave comments here (I'm very, VERY LJ unsavvy).

Anyway, you did such an amazing job- honestly. I think you captured the essence of S1 so perfectly. I read this over and over again, and it just served to reinforce that S1 wasn't just about the sex, it was just about the two of them falling in love. And I love the last lines of each one- especially the last one, and how it goes so beautifully with what actually happened on the show. There are so many things I'd love to comment on, but I think it's best to wrap up here.

I really hope you write another Season 1 fic ;)
