I love how you write her feelings about Bishop - very aware of the bad decisions, wanting something more or something else and refusing to let herself
I'm also thinking about the way she sees Bishop as lazy and if that makes sense in the way I see him.

I was struck in this chapter by the parallels and opposites with Tarva and Laura (forgive me). It's almost a mirror-flip. Specifically, when Tarva talks to Casavir up on the wall, and she says she understands Bishop and what he's doing with the group. She feels she has similarities to Bishop, and Casavir loves her (I never did put an exact name for how Tarva felt about Casavir beyond 'confused' and, later 'guilty').
Here you have Laura talking to Bishop up on the wall, and she says she understands Casavir and what he needs. There are similarities between her and Casavir (although I don't think she'd put it that way), and she and Bishop are... well, not exactly lovers.
I may have had a point to make beyond the fact that the point interested me, but if so I have forgotten it.

My absolute favourite thing in this chapter is Grobnar's interjections. I want that line about the daisy chains on a shirt.

I love how much they're not saying, and the way Laura thinks about this
and tbh I never decided whether Bishop was an actual or potential rapist; it's interesting to see it discussed, especially in character. You see a lot of the romanced Bishop-writers going 'of course not, he wouldn't do that' and the antis 'oh yes he would'
and I liked this interpretation

Oh man
that - I can't even think of the word. The paradox? He got what he wanted and then isn't sure whether it was exactly what he wanted after all. It's more complicated than he's expected and she's got that fish hook well into his guts. That final paragraph of the first section is just amazing
and then that moment at the end where she's laughing, really laughing, and you can see how it could be between them if they were not what they were - beautiful.

SAND HELLO AGAIN
I love him being a spy and quietly amassing all the information against the day he needs it, and his utter matter-of-factness about biology and all other relevant facts
(there's also a hint of Daeghun parenting there and I really like it)

I remember you mentioning, on a tumblr post where I talked about how Bishop shoved Tarva into a wall and kissed her, that he did the same to Laura who decided she was completely down with it.

Neeshka's a character it's so difficult to do well - so often she gets babied. But I like what you did with her perspective here - and of course she's perceptive, she's a thief - how she notices Hoar and Laura's tears
and don't I want to kick Bishop for being so awful to poor Bevil
and the moment Laura broke and yelled at Hoar was AMAZING

I have a lot of feelings about Daeghun and about Hoar and about angry young Laura and I am enjoying them all
