I liked the short story. It's hard to say what makes a friend a friend. Things that should be obvious usually aren't and people that are friends often have a quirkyness to them that defies logic to anyone looking at why...perhaps this is why John & Rodney are friends, they are quirky to each other.

Spent the past week looking for three of your other stories because I'm crap with usernames and titles, and wound up finding this little gem, as well. For a reason that I can't actually articulate this really caught my fancy and was very fulfilling, I'm quite satisfied with the whole experience of reading this. I especially love how you used the quotes from the episode, that lent a lot of emotional weight.

Very cute! Love how Sheppard and McKay are friends even though they are the least likely to ever be so. It really is a friendship born out of respect and admiration for the other. And even though Rodney states that it's dangerous being friends with Sheppard, John also has the issue of keeping most people at a distance and not revealing his feelings to anyone. He has lost so many people in his life that he feels it is safer to keep everyone out than risk loss again. Thanks for this little story.

I just finished watching the Midway episode and wanted to read any fanfic based on it. This one had one of the most interesting approaches and I very much enjoyed it. It was well written and you got the voices dead on. Especially McKay with his determination not to become friends with John, only to find that he had in spite of himself, and that the "risky" friend was the one still alive. Very nice. Suduko puzzles on the other hand - suck LOL. I am not mathematically inclined.

I love it! That was nice of Rodney! The last quote touched up the story very nicely. You are an awesome writer!
