Wow, you almost made me cry. :,) This is so beautifully written, and so warm, it just melted me into a puddle of soppy happiness. XD

I love the Weasley family, and you really made Arthur and Ron justice in this little gem of a story. You showed their relationship with so much simplicity and yet so much genuine emotion. Thank you.

Aaaawwwwwwww! how adorable!

This was adorable, it really was. I like the thought of Ron and Arthur having a special bond because of chess, all we know from the books is that it's something Ron was really good at, this was some great backstory. Anyway, just wanted to say that I thought it was lovely :)

This story was really lovely, although a bit slow... but then sometimes slow is good - and in this case it was.

It's a wonderful change reading a story that doesn't focus on romance, and indeed completely lacks it. Reading this story makes me feel a lot more peaceful.

In short, I loved it. The whole story is pretty much flawless and there was an almost antique-y feel to it. I usually don't like one-shots, but this was definitely an exception.

I've only got one little point to make here: When you wrote/typed "Generations of Weasley's have learnt to play on that board", you should have actually put "Generations of Weasleys have learnt to play on that board". Then again, it probably wasn't a mistake made through lack of ignorance or anything. Just chance. I often make the most dreadful mistakes when I type too quickly :).

The image of 3 year old Ron with the talking queen is funny.

It reminds me of Midnight by the Weasley Watch by excessivelyperky- in fact, it reads like a prequel to that.
