Reviews for Just a Boggart
Anonymous chapter 1 . 3/7/2017
...Ow.

I love stories based on one line of text; there's so much to explore! And nice take on it: short, poignant, and effective.

Which brings me to my original point. OW.

On point! The tragedy and flawed beauty of Sirius affects me everytime! Good job!
xxChocolatePancakeSxx chapter 1 . 12/27/2013
Oh, my god... very deep. Strikes nerves in all the right places, I'm speechless. The characterization, the depth, the emotion behind everything... Simply... haunting.

I don't think you could have done any better with this one-shot. Truly amazing work. You got everyone's character down to a T, whether it be the always calm, quiet werewolf, to the guilt-ridden, stubborn convict. The story had me in tears by the end. I know many people try to write stories that are supposed to take place during Order of the Phoenix, and many suffer greatly, but this fic is the best one I have seen. I read it 5 times in one sitting, and still the way you phrased your sentences took me on an emotional rollercoaster. I'm not saying that I have the most experience writing, or that you need to take my advice, but I personally don't believe, from a Harry-Potter-Fan-Fiction-fanatic's point of view, that you need to change anything.

Wonderfully written. This is one of the best Sirius/Remus-in-OotP fics I've ever read. I'd always wished that JKR could have included more interaction between these two from PoA to OotP, so thank you for writing this piece. I wish that the ending didn't leave the two friends unresolved, but I think that that actually lends to a more angst-ridden, hopeless mindset for the reader - I could certainly feel what Sirius must've endured in this scene.

Overall, really great work! :)

Cool! Please continue the story!
The Back-up Deatheaters chapter 1 . 5/6/2011
What a great missing scene. The title is very fitting too. Sirius obviously would be depicted with flaws - but he is not the only one - and I am glad you alluded to Remus’s as well. I do think that Sirius sees Harry as separate from James, but at the same time, the two are too much intertwined, almost ingrained, within his own mind. It was nice to see your insight and elaboration of the emotions that went through Sirius’s mind, as the reader knows that being sent back to Sirius’s childhood home would be nearly equated with being in prison for him. His relationship with Remus is stressed to say the least, both having been shaken by accusations made by best friends during such a dark time. I did agree with your depiction of Remus also; I feel that Remus would have difficulty expressing his own emotions/be so guarded. This is probably largely due to what happened long ago, beginning with having to keep secrets such as his lycanthropy; he was never allowed too much trust. The last line was perfect, both in terms of the tacit implications of Remus’s statement and actions and the overall tone of the story. I enjoyed this and thank you for sharing it.

That was great. Remus had so much hidden emotion and depth in this. the ending was terribly sad but wonderfully written
Annie chapter 1 . 12/19/2010
wow. Very powerful. And I especially liked the line in the second to last paragraph where Sirius realizes that there's something very dark under the surface with Remus. That line was just...chilling.

Amazingly written!

I can see Sirius's point of view but I feel sorry for Remus!
Mirabelle456 chapter 1 . 1/13/2009
Aw, poor Sirius... *cries myself*

That was a wonderfully written story. I love Sirius *random*
hydraspit chapter 1 . 11/2/2008
This is probably one of the most in-cannon I've ever seen these characters. It would be so easy to put this in the book, at exactly this spot - and have it match completely.

Very well done here.
