Oh I can't imagine the anguish Sam went through convinced that Dean was dead. And Dean not knowing whether or not Sam was alive. Great story! If it hadn't been written 10 years ago, I would've asked for a second chapter as Dean recovers physically and they both recover emotionally!

H/C junkie that I am, when I started reading this, I was disappointed that the story began after the H. That I was missing all that wonderful angst of Dean waking up in a hospital BY HIMSELF. And his recovery. And the search for Sam. But as I kept reading I realized, of course, that you were right. I shouldn't have questioned your talent. You picked up the story in the perfect place. The reunion alone let us know about everything that came before, leaving us with the best kind of C. Thank you. Thank you for composing another wonderful brothers scene.

I loved this story so much! It was brilliant and very touching. And I really liked the line "Dean's little brother now instead of John's son" Very poetic, and the perfect way to describe Sam's collapse from tough guy to emotional brother. :D

You have some really awesome turns of phrase in this story. I mean, your wording is always really good and eloquent and descriptive but you had some of my favorites in this fic.

Great story. Poor Sammy.

Great and really believable story of the boys reuniting, and Dean would never have had to look for Sam if Sam hadn't totally believed his brother was dead. You got their reactions and emotions spot on. These two parts are particular favourites - "Hugging's not too girly for you?" Sam asked thickly against his jacket.

"Dude, this isn't hugging, it's manly embracing. Dad did it, too, remember?"

"Good, 'cause…I think I might bawl on you while I'm at it."

Dean rolled his eyes, and held on a little tighter. "One-time free pass, Sammy. After tonight, it never happened."

and - "I gave your stuff away."

"Uh-huh," he said dryly, and hitched his shoulder to bump Sam. "I saw the bag in the back seat already, doofus."

"Your tapes?" Hopefully.

"Yeah, you know you love my music. Actually, I just came back for my car."

"I love you, too."

A definite fave :)

AW, I LOVED this! So satisfying to see the two brothers reunited again:-) And I loved the manly embracing! (By the by, I am SO glad you don't write slash - I honestly don't get how anyone can so utterly pervert such a beautiful brotherly relationship.)

What a great story...I felt so sorry for for reunion of our beloved brothers was so heartbreaking (uh,it made me think of their reunion in 4x01 *sighs*) but it also put a big big smile on my face.

Really, great story and so damn well written!

This was excellent. I love the mistaken-death part of it-somehow, that just helps bring out the love that Dean and Sam have for one another. I like this one's difference to the other few you've done which include Dean's 'death', because this time there's a confrontation and Sam's disbelief. That makes it more realistic-with everything they face, it makes sense for Sam to be suspicious instead of instantly welcoming.

another one of your stories that I really like and forgot to review! I like it, full of hugs and crying and good stuff all around. I like the lines "They found a body, Dean. It took three days and a bulldozer to dig it out. There wasn’t much left, just, uh… I threw the phone at the wall.” Just sums up rather succinctly what Sam went through and his emotions...good job
