Reviews for When Death Begs
Sand of Sea chapter 20 . 12/26/2012
I just recently started playing AC (I'm a bit late, I know haha) and scrolled fanfics for the first game... I found a story but got bored after a while. This fic I found in the author's faves.

I LOVED this. I hardly enjoy gore much, but you slid just the right amount in. It's also more realistic than most fanfics on the site. The story didn't die towards the end. I also enjoyed the father-daughter theme very much. By the way - I had to stop reading for a while after the, you know, killing his daughter part, although I knew it was
coming.

Good work! This will be in my favorites.

Thank you!

I do not have the words to describe how powerful, how skillful, how moving, and how deeply wrenching your writing is. I almost feel unworthy to have read such a great work for free.

To say that this is the best Assassin's Creed fanfiction I have ever read would be an understatement, and I have read some to which I have given glowing praise. I read these when I have free time at work, and your writing almost made me cry in my cubicle. I felt my eyes well up with tears, and for brief moments, I held my head in my hands and pleaded for the happy ending that I knew from the first chapter would not come.

Not only was your writing superbly moving and powerful, but you finished it. You FINISHED it! As rare as it is to see professional-quality writing here, it is far rarer to see it in a fully-completed story. I offer my most humble and esteemed thanks for having not only introduced us to such a wonderful story but also for taking us every painful step of the way through to the end.

As sorry as I was that it ended, I was not too sorry, to tell the truth, because you ended it so well. You fleshed out the story with enough length to completely cover your story, so that, when you finally finished, I was satisfied.

You deserve more than my praise for having written this excellent story. You deserve Assassin's Creed merchandise, monetary compensation, and a lucrative job offer on Ubisoft's story development team.

I heave a heavy sigh as I realize that, in every way, it has come to an end. I have beaten the game, (found all of the flags and templar,) read your story, read all of the reviews, and written my own review, which is now complete. I am tired, and I need a hug. I think I will have dinner with my mother this evening, and I think I am going to call my father and tell him that I love him.

Thank you again for your outstanding contribution to this site, a contribution that goes far and away above and beyond expectations. I sincerely hope that everything in your real life goes very well. I sincerely hope that whatever it is about you that allows you your uncanny writing ability is put to good use in your career. Safety and Peace.
Tonnerre chapter 20 . 2/8/2010
A very good ending. I was gonna cry you know, 'but all's well and all that bs. This has driven me to go finish the game already! Thank you, it's been a thrill, a pleasure, an honour.
Tonnerre chapter 17 . 2/8/2010
Your words have true power over me. I'm sad for Ghazi and Jyin. Truly, I foolishly hoped they would live. The metaphor about the trees and his description of death was poetry by the way.
Tonnerre chapter 11 . 2/7/2010
I wonder if he and Giovanni would get along...
Tonnerre chapter 10 . 2/7/2010
I think your love scenes are quite tasteful Your story satisfies me more than any hardcore must scene could, that's for sure.
Tonnerre chapter 7 . 2/7/2010
*squees*

Too damn good! It doesn't end. I"m gonna have to raid your story chest once this one ends.
Tonnerre chapter 5 . 2/7/2010
Ach that's heavy stuff. this guy must be a wreck by the end.
Tonnerre chapter 4 . 2/7/2010
Of all the luck...

These chapters just keep getting better.
Tonnerre chapter 2 . 2/7/2010
You have true talent. I feel like I really know this guy, you describe his moods and actions beautifully.
Tonnerre chapter 1 . 2/7/2010
I'm already liking it. Reading on!

m loved it, and hated it for killing my fav charector in such a brutal way. I don't think killing Aless was totally nessescery. And to end this with a touch of kindness, you are my second most favorite writer on FF.
sandaime23 chapter 20 . 8/7/2008
Fucking kick ass, you need to write another sequal. You created an amazing story and the characters were great. I loved seeing Haytham with his son in that small part at the end of the fic. Hope to read more from you soon.

Please forgive the tardiness of this review. I read the last 2 chapters. I was thrown by the last chapter’s reference to Desmond and Lucy. I did a bit of research into Assassin’s Creed. And reread the entire story.

I am not intimately knowledgeable with the Creed’s mythology; however, within a half page I am looking with Kaim’s eyes into a full blown world. Our writer’s imagination and skill has launched off a computer game and provided us with believable and interesting characters that live and die against a rich tapestry of palace intrigue. The plot weaves basic canon into this story flawlessly. Story pace was excellent, both action and suspense scenes were well-written. It was riveting from start to finish.

My only criticism of this tale would be my urge to correct misspelled and misplaced words (minor) and perhaps to spend a bit more time on the wrap-up and disclaimer. Having Desmond and the laboratory show up “Out of the blue” in the last chapter is a delightful bonus to those familiar with the game, but confuses us ‘newbies’.

I understand that a project to publish a book based on Assassin’s Creed was scrapped. The publishers would do themselves a favor to think again and take a look at this author.
Black-Inque2002 chapter 20 . 4/1/2008
I can't believe I reached the end! I really liked how you wrapped it up with Haytham and Desmond. I wish I could go back in time and see my ancestors, although, with all that Desmond has seen, it might not be a good idea. His interactions with Lucy were hilarious, by the way.

Overall, excellent job on your first story. :) I wish my first stories were half as interesting.

I'm gonna cut it short, because I've got the flu. :(
