Tamuril2 chapter 1 . 6/28/2017
I have'ta say, I love these Redemption!Banachek stories a lot. Like, a LOT! I dunno, there's just something about his character. So much better than Simmons (he annoys me). I wish someone (*cough* you *cough*) would write a sequel to these. Show what happens AFTER the Autobots say he can stay with them. Everyone shows them questionung him, and him accepting his guilt, but no one is going further. I know, I know, I could do it myself (maybe I will eventually), but you writers who have already got the foundation written would do a MUCH better job of it.

Just a thought (hint, nudge, cough).

Pleeeeease!
Alathea2 chapter 1 . 6/14/2012
Hehehe, I've always wondered what happened to Banachek. This was a very good gap filler. I also liked the way Ironhide was portrayed... gruff yet grieving, demanding but willing to give a second chance. Over all, very, very nice. Definitely a favorite. Thank you.
Ell Bee Someone Else Now chapter 1 . 6/6/2010
Like this a LOT. More in this fandom, please?
lucidscreamer chapter 1 . 10/26/2009
Great little fic. I especially liked Ironhide - and Optimus! Much love for Optimus, always. ;)
noctaval chapter 1 . 10/7/2009
I really like this fic! It's a great insight into a character that doesn't get much love. I loved the back-and-forth between the two...I think they have a more realistic perspective on the events surrounding the Allspark than Sam or Optimus, even.

The end is cool, too- Banachek (and his men) are learning. :D
NeatFerocious chapter 1 . 10/27/2007
Excellent handling of the situation, you managed to touch on some of the very issues left completely unresolved in the movie's storyline (one of gaping plot-holes). So much so in fact that this really plays out like a integral missing-scene.

You wrote a decidedly credible OC. I would indeed be glad to see you use that person again for, perhaps, a follow up on this story. You seem to sharply get to the gist of those grating misunderstandings in meeting of these two different species. Wonderful piece, thank you for writing.
Kyarorin chapter 1 . 10/20/2007
Only nine reviews? This short is wonderful, it demands more.

Really, really good writing, and I loved how in-character you kept Ironhide. And having Banachek in there is a huge plus, there needs to be more of him.
Ranma15177 chapter 1 . 10/20/2007
I like your use of the characters and the interesting concept of forgiveness. I didn't see any errors and I don't think you could expand on the concept. Of course not knowing the characters as well as you I'm not the best judge of that...probably. :) Good evolution of character inside the story. I admit I'm never sure about the characterization of Optimus Prime...but you seem to have it down, although when he said the bit about the allspark I was believing it. I think of all of the characters that I can say "this one reminds me of..." I always felt that Optimus Prime reminded me lightly of Goliath from Gargoyles...go figure. So it only stands to reason that you would be pretty good at making him a believable character. I really wish I knew Ironhide better. I remember him from the cartoon, but no so well from the movie. Which I have only seen once as you remember. Good job. Love the snippet.
Daisydill chapter 1 . 10/17/2007
i really liked it. I think you captured Ironhide well.
Bluebird Soaring chapter 1 . 10/15/2007
While Banachek was not one of my favorites from the movie, you did an excellent job with this piece! Very creative to have Ironhide reaching out to him, and to be bothered by what had happened with the experiments and the Allspark. You certainly chould have lots more fun with this story if you wanted. I like how thoughtful you made Ironhide too...he may be the weapons expert but that doesn't make him dumb by any means!
Fire From Above chapter 1 . 10/15/2007
That was a nice and interesting story. I like the path towards the humans' recognition of other sentient beings and all the other stuff that comes with that realization.
Dwim chapter 1 . 10/14/2007
I like the idea that Ironhide would be the one to have this little chat with Banachek. But I like even more the idea that Prime uses Ironhide as a barometer in a way - that if Ironhide is willing to deal with somebody, Prime is willing to work with him or her. I've also got a sense that despite Ironhide's manifest trigger-happiness, once he decides to take a chance on trusting somebody, that trust is gold because he is almost never wrong. It's also good to see Prime in commander-diplomat mode - we didn't see nearly enough of that in the movie.

On the human side of things, Banachek's discovery that in fact, Autobots have faces, if you will, is nicely done. I liked the understated recognition that one of the beings he had been thinking of as just a machine sacrificed his life for humanity. The distance that Banachek has from Jazz - having only just recognized that beyond the number, Jazz was a person in his own right - works well. It makes the viewer, who (thanks to the evils of the script) was also kept at a distance from him, feel that distance as ignorance, and that ignorance as something to be regretted. It projects a nice aura of fragility onto beings who otherwise register as more or less indestructible.
Byrnstar chapter 1 . 10/14/2007
I like your character development in this. Banachek comes across as intelligent and his fear - along with his curiosity - about Ironhide come through very well. During the little we saw of him, Banachek struck me as one of the few in Section 7 who would be willing to acknowledge he'd made a terrible mistake - and who would take the offer of a second chance to correct it.
teh blumchenkinder chapter 1 . 10/14/2007
Meh... just maybe *a barest bit* over done... but more than likely not.

I LOVE THIS.

Nice, mech-y details, good personality workings, and I adore the tidbit at the end w/ the soldier guy. I liked Banachek in the movie. And here. :D
dark kitsune chapter 1 . 10/14/2007
