Incredible AU fic! Intriguing and elegant, with an unresistable plot and the intricacies of not-knowing and not-telling aspect of yakuza... I would so love to read more of this! And the characters? Refreshing and sharp!

This is an excellent AU story.

It really is a very good read, the story is very interesting.

It is unfinished and that's the only disappointing part of this tale.

But if you have some time and love Hikago by all means this is a very worthy read indeed.

I really wasn't expecting to like a Toya the Yakuza boss story but here I am hoping you will read this and continue/finish this story. I saw you still get reviews too, so please give us a sign!

This is really an amazing and intricate story so far. At first I was a bit reluctant to read it because the premise didn't quite appeal to me... but your writing convinced me pretty fast. Somehow you managed to create an Akira who's not a go professional and yet still loves Go more than anything else. I'd never have pictured him as a yakuza, but in a way it still fits. I don't know how, but the way you write it, it's somehow believable.

This is such an exciting plot, I hope you haven't abandoned the story. Anyway, great job!

I went into this story expecting not to like it. I can't pinpoint why, just that others had recommended it so I thought I'd give it a shot despite it not being my thing.

And you know what? I'm am so, so happy I did- your story is beyond fantastic. This AU you've built up is gorgeous, and the way it's lush with little details about the yakuza lifestyle only adds to the sense of realism. I kind of got the feeling you'd read the Godfather for some reason. If you haven't, it's an awesome book, and I think it kind of ties in with what you wrote. Only, you know, Italian, not Japanese.

But back to to praising your story: I love how Hikaru and Touya's reunion is only a chance occurrence, but it grows to mean so much more. I think my favorite part was definitely Touya staking out his territory. XD Yashiro freaking out over Hikaru and Touya's identities made me laugh for some reason. Ooh, and it looks like things were going to heat up with the police and Ichiwaka (I assume that if this story were to be continued, she'd be dead in a few chapters), nice touch of drama there. I can only imagine how Hikaru would react to the police or if they tried to accuse him. "No, really officers! I only met up with that yakuza boss guy to play some go!" "Of course. We completely believe you. And these aren't handcuffs, these are pretty pretty bracelets." It's go over so well. .

Even if you never finish the story, what you've got is beautiful. Thank you for writing this!

I'm not going to join the chorus, begging for updates (though I will cross that little story alert box down there, cause if there some day will be an update, I'm not going to miss it), but mainly I just want to thank you so much for writing this. I've really enjoyed reading this fic... it has such a great intensity, and all the characters are portayed to a T. Brilliant job, thank you again. I've a feeling I will be rereading this.

That's the only HNG story I came back to over and over again. I read it about two years ago, and fell in love with it. Sadly, when I came upon it- there were no updates already. It's a wonderful story really. I never thought something so original can be done with a series such as HNG, which is awfully traditional. But you did, and the result was wonderful. I loved everything you typed, especially the colorfulness and richness you added to the world of HNG. I loved the pace, and I loved the plot, but most of all- I loved how you portrayed Hikaru and Akira. It doesn't really matter if it happened in the series or not- because I can see it happening now. I do not know why you do not update this story anymore- maybe you lost the muse, or are just to busy with other things, but I do think I should have reviewed already. I love it, and I thank you for writing it. After two years, it's still a beloved piece.
