Nightfall Rising chapter 1 . 8/11/2014 Awwwww Poor Severus. He has every right to be miffed; the recipe said 'eggs,' not 'whites and yolk,' and it didn't even say what KIND of eggs, it could have been plovers or ostrich or iguana... these things make a difference to flavor, texture, and volume, you know! I bet it didn't even say what kind of mammal the milk and butter were meant to have come from, or what kind of flour! There are more kinds of grain than wheat, you know! (XD) |
Guest chapter 1 . 4/29/2013 Oh, Snape, he should know you NEVER stir food widdershins! Thank god for superstitious Scottish grand parents... ;-) |

emeraldarduenna chapter 1 . 7/13/2010 brilliant idea I can't say which part I liked the most, I laughed during the whole story. Especially the interaction between Snape and McGonagall is absolutely hilarious. Thank you for sharing this wonderful story. |
sazza-da-vampire chapter 1 . 8/22/2009 laugh out loud hilarity. Literally, I've been laughing non-stop since I opened the story! Good job! |
Duchess131 chapter 1 . 8/9/2009 This is hilarious. I think I must have read it ten times and I never could stop laughing. My favorite part was when Fred and George think that McGonagall and Snape are secretly in love and trying to murder Dumbledore. I love Snape's attempt to get rid of Umbridge once and for all. |
livesonwisteria chapter 1 . 12/29/2008 Excellent story throughout - the charcterizations were a really strong part of your story, I don't think there was any OOCness. It might have been better to see some more of Umbrige, but, also you have gotten me hooked on a new pairing! |
TehFicMonster chapter 1 . 12/5/2008 Ah, he finally got his socks! Now if the toad lady would only take that tumble down the stairs, it truly would be a wonderful birthday indeed. :) |
Sophia Anya Lee chapter 1 . 5/6/2008 Hiya LadyBug, Your story is completely hilarious; it had me laughing right of my chair! God ... where do I start? Well, your description of everything is quite amazing and some of the dialogues (specially Minerva's and Severus' lines) are really quite catchy and quirky. Your start is great; I just love the "Please tell me you’re playing an extremely nasty and undeserved trick on us, Filius" part, and Rolanda's smirks coupled with Umbridge's oh-I'm-the-greatest attitude. And no, all the characters are perfectly in character in my opinion (I seriously don't know how you managed to make Snape funny and greasy at the same time ;-D) And Fred and Geoge's madcap assumptions although comical only add to all the chaos (come on, Minerva and Snape ... lovers {yuck}, Minerva trying to poison Dumbledore? Pent up sexual tensions ... puhleez -D) 'Course there's dear Dolly Dolores who gets slapped verbally by Minerva (heehee, I love it when Mcg (:-D) get mad at Umbrigde) when Dolly accuses her of conspiring against Albus and being romantically invovled with him! Severus and the Veritaserum part is mirthful too! And the house elves resembling Hermoine is so sweet {grins} and so is Snape tying of his hair ... and Dolores with a tough of genius ... just too good! The ending is great too ... where Fred and George try to hex or whatever Min and Snape and end up feeling quite stupid ... and Sev tries to push away t he gift on Minerva's name and it backfires instead 'cause Albus' is so touched by Minerva's idea! In all, a completely uproarious and vastly entertaining story ... two thumbs up! (I'd give you more if I had any ... ) Only thing that wasn't so great was Sybil's cameo ... ah, but that was rather overshadowed by evertything else ... Hats off to you and thanks for the side-splitting story! Cheers, Lee aka Nymph of the Night. PS - My humble apologies if the review is too long; but I really loved your story! Thanks for the previous reply yoy sent to my review for The Kelpie! |
Heptagon chapter 1 . 2/1/2008 Hehe. This was simply wonderful. Really funny! :D Heh, and that's the reason one (or two) shouldn't spy on their professors. Ah, too bad about Dumbledore's lucky cake, but at least he got the socks he has always wanted. Besides, with those three doing it, thousand mishaps and accidents might have happened to the cake before it was served even if Fred and George hadn't jumped out to save the day. ;) Now, my favourite parts. I liked the very beginning where Poppy was glaring at Umbridge, either about her unhealty way of drinking her tea or just because she didn't like her. Then Flitwick being way too chirpy and others resenting that, I totally understand that. Heh, and then of course Snape lamenting the lack of proper instructions in the recipe, which way to stir and when to add things. His teasing McGonagall with Albus was very funny indeed, and then Pomona's remark of them being like an old marriage couple that silenced them both. My very favourite quote, however, comes from George: ‘No idea,’ whispered George, ‘I suppose it might be the way older people flirt, but I’m really not sure…’ Hehehee. :D Well, everything worked out fabulously. Albus got his socks and the three Heads of Houses had jolly good time baking the cake. :P Thanks for writing this. :) |
