| Merrybeans chapter 1 . 8/30/2007 Aw, sweet! This was a great mini-story. I loved the angst at the start; it was wonderfully well written and poignant. I have to say I think I preferred it to the romance at the end, but then I'm a sucker for angst. ;) The first line was great - I loved the short and sweetness of the three sentences and the contrast between Nigel and Sydney worked brilliantly. Also, I really liked the line "Now, suddenly, he felt as if his legs had been cut out from underneath him and his whole body ached from the fall." Oh, and I liked the scene with Preston - Nigel wanting to return to his home, Preston being his usual self, and finally clicking on. I would have been interested to see where you went with this if you hadn't done it as a birthday fic. |
