Jazzilynn Hall chapter 46 . 12/23/2015 In regards to Rachel not aging, maybe the nanites could have slowed down her molecular structure, making it so that she ages as like... a hundredth the speed of other humans. So like for every hundred human/Earth years that passes, she only gains one year. While she would die eventually, it would prolong her life to at least somewhat match a Cybertronian's lifespan. As for human and Autobot relationships... holoforms could work. If Jazz went to Hound and asked him to develop a hologram program that would allow him to take human form, and do everything humans are able to do (e.i. touch, feel, taste... procreate), than that could work for how Jazz and Rachel have a working relationship. I LOVE this story by the way. |

chaitea16 chapter 46 . 2/21/2011 Despite the fact that this has a very "puppy love" feel to a relationship between two mature adults, this was a fantastically fun action/romance story. The plot was engaging with a delightfully high level of immersion and your characters were well developed with fun aspects that made them a real treat to follow. Jazz was portrayed beautifully, coming across as charmingly smooth with a deeper emotional core that shown threw gorgeously at all the right moments to really worked for me. What I thoroughly enjoyed about Rachel was how above all you kept her true to the background you established for her. You used it as a foundation to build her character on which kept her consistent and likable. For a young female OC created as an Autobot's romantic interest, you really did do an excellent job making her so much more then that. You also actually explained the science enough to make it theoretically plausible while not bogging down the story with ridiculous concepts. That was much appreciated since I love science and hate to see it treated like magic since it is so beautifully founded and deserves better then that. You treated it right in an over the top way without making it seem like Star Trek BS. And for that I couldn't be happier. The dark tone the story took on was fantastic. And you wrote just enough one-shot fluff pieces on the side that treated the readers to some sugar while not toning down the bitterness. Nice balance, there. I especially liked how you kept me guessing with what the hack was going on and what could possibly happen next. Though What threw me in the action sequences was the two extremes you wrote between. In frame, either a character died rather abruptly with no hope for ever coming back or slowly and at the last minute a deus ex machina came around and saved them. While not really obnoxious, it was a curious pattern I noticed. Either way, nothing ever felt like it dragged on much because of you frequent perspective switches. Those kept things fresh and heightened the suspense delightfully. Though there were a few points where I was getting tired re-reading the same exact sequence from a different characters view point. But that's just my personal take. Overall, the repetitive re-telling actually was quite insightful. So yeah. I loved it, already plowed through the one-shots, and am waiting for when I have a nice span of free time before diving into the sequel. |
