Reviews for The Phoenix Hope
Aeltari Kareidis chapter 1 . 7/16/2009
Oh thank you so much for doing this story. You echoed completely my own feelings about what should have happened. They failed our characters so completely in that game! Thank heavens for talented folks like you who put the correct spin on things!

Like you, my heart also said that the KC would get with child from that one beautiful passion filled night, and regardless of whether the remarkable Casavir was ever reunited with her, she would always have a part of him with her.

Very well done my friend, very well done!

Wow great chapter and wonderful twist at the end can't wait until the next part :-)

This chapter was well worth the wait. I can't wait to see how he reacts to her revelation.

Wow! I couldn't wait to see Bishop's view of the various tragedies. The pit of his depression seemed so right, and an excellent extract of his own life and mistakes along the way.

...of course, now I need to go back and reread stuff! Who needs sleep?
Wolf-Kin chapter 24 . 3/12/2009
I will stand by what I said - that is an awesome way to end a chapter. :D The progression of darkness was really good - as was the focus on Bishop being *hurt* and so lashing out because it's the only way he knows how to grief. Unhealthy to the extreme, and certainly not Ilmatarian: no matter that he's learned a new path, he's got a long way to go, dragging his feet over redemption the whole way.

I do think he might be more accurate than Bree on his likelihood of being welcomed back, but more because before they'll forgive him, he's got to forgive himself, if that makes sense.

(I have also PM'd this reply to Weeble's review, but I wanted to publicly respond to answer a public comment.)

Weeble,

While I'm sorry to lose a reader who's enjoyed my story up to this point, I respect your decision to stop reading. I hope some day you may feel up to coming back, but if you don't, I understand.

I do, however, take issue with your posting your feelings as a public review. It should have been PM'd to me if you felt the need to inform me of your disapproval.

And no, unfortunately, it's not the same thing as my posting a spork, as the spork deals directly with the story and your review was solely a personal comment on activities that had nothing to do with "Phoenix Hope" as a story.

Thanks,

Cor
Amanda chapter 23 . 10/1/2008
Nice chapter, sad but sweet at the same time. They see that they still have hope even though things look tough, and I guess that's when it counts for the most.

And I just got that your titles are taken from movies. Cool!

You know what I loved the most about this? The way the two of them realized not only that they're not alone any more, but that they're a family now, and that their baby daughter is just as much a part of all that happened before and all that will happen after as they are. Really beautiful.

Thank you.

Another magnificent chapter. You have such a fabulous talent for utterly immersing the reader in your world. The little things, like sayings, add such distinct layers to the tale. Your skill with writing dialogue is unmatched.

It's hard for me to describe how much I truly adore this story. I eagerly look forward to every new chapter, and will re-read previous chapters often (that's me upping your hit counter). Thank you so much for writing this, and for sharing it.

Best regards,

Carolyn
Jessikah chapter 23 . 9/29/2008
Lianna giving Casavir a swat for saying Old Owl Well? Maybe if she does it a few more times he'll get the picture.

I think this is one of the best chapters yet. It's got its sweet and funny parts, especially with the booze. Sloshed Casavir is really good reading. But there's also the dark and scary pieces with remembering everything that happened to them and how it's effected them. And all of that's bound up with their relationship keeping up its little steps forward. They argue but they talk honestly about it, and they didn't do that before. Like they say at the end, they're in it together no matter what and you know they really mean it.

What a sweet chapter! I think Lia and Casavir have finally exorcised the ghosts of their past. I had to laugh when she slugged him for saying the dreaded "Old Owl Well" though.
anesor chapter 23 . 9/29/2008
I started laughing out loud at the punch and the negative conditioning starting here. Nice interlude in a rough place.
FoggyKnight chapter 22 . 9/15/2008
Aw no! I liked the wolf :(, he was the only part I could stand when I played Bishop during that game...
Rhia474 chapter 22 . 9/10/2008
Daww, poor mutt. While I don't much care for Bishop, that must have been hard on him. On the other hand, that doesn't excuse his behavior in any way. Hopefully this is the start of the change that should have entered his thick skull a bit earlier, and under much less painful circumstances.

Your Brienne is an interesting contrast to the other paladin in the story...:) and I think you're well on your way to find an unique voice for her. She and Bishop are a good contrast to the other paladin and ranger; interweaving these four viewpoints is a great way to show their story to its full extent.

For Jessikah (hope you get this!):

No, he hasn't slept with anyone before Lianna, nor really had a true romance. But of course, she's not the first woman he's actually cared about. With Ophala he had a sort of smitten teenaged disaster. With Brienne...well, you'll see soon enough. ;)
