I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It's inventive, intriguing, and you built up the characters well. I am now going to see what else you've written. ;)

Awww...I know that Snape is a huge git, but I hoped when his torture started it would after the horcruxes were kaput and Harry would feel the event taking place and stop it. Ah well.

Surprisingly different from Serpent. I think I like this one a little better, but it is close and it may be just because it is the one I just finished. One of the things that it has in common with Serpent, though, is that is also better than DH.
One thing that I thought about early is that there is a good story where Evan confronts Harry before he has left Melissa at the bus stop and they end up on the run together. I know why you didn't write this story that way. It doesn't fit what you were trying to accomplish with a possible year 7 story right before DH came out. As a "post-series, AU, year 7 fic" it has strong possibilities I think.
I've found myself really enjoying HP fics with well written original characters lately. This probably explains my interest in the above idea and one of the reasons why this story edges Serpent out in my mind. Evan was a significant part of this story.

While writing my review for serpents sacrifice, I realised I forgot to write one for this fic. It won't be as detailed as I'd like because of the time lapsed since I read it, but I wanted to leave a review nonetheless. This was definitely my favourite of the two fics!

Firstly, you write the trio dynamics excellently.

Second, the aspect of Harry getting darker and darker was fresh for me - I hadn't seen that done before, or at least done that well. Your take on the horcruxes and hunt was different from the other fic, but also different from JK - how did you manage that! Excellent storytelling. I would have liked more time to see H/HR in action but what we got was lovely anyway.

Most of all though, I LOVED the politics in this. It was so, so brilliant. The Daily Prophet updates were among my favourite, it shows the real world impact in a way that we didn't get in the books and revealed the extensive webs between everyone. Great stuff.

Thanks so much for writing these fics! They're great. I'm sure I'll come back to them a few more times over the future years :)

This reads almost like the song of ice and fire, where GRRM involves so many characters and it just works because their fates intertwines, and it looks Voldemort is really suffering some critical losses, I mean, Lucius, Bella, now Snape lol he's getting roasted.

And I love how you've handled the politics aspect of your story, but seeing the press taking Harry's side over the government is weird lol wheres Skeeter btw. As for Hermione again you with the slow burn, I still cannot tell whether she or he has feelings for the other, they both read like you've plucked their likenesses straight out of canon.

What a brilliant story, as much as I'd like to hope this is what I think it is I'm still unsure whether or not it is, despite your apparent slow burning portrayal of H/Hr, but if it is, that is the best kind, putting that together with your incredibly interesting plot makes this easily one of my top fics ever, great job.

This story has so much going on, and its a pleasant surprise to see the ministry actually actively waging war against Voldemort, I don't remember ever reading a story that did this. As far as Harry's situation, it is kind of irritating seeing him so short with Hermione both in person and in his head, he came off as an asshole comparing her looks to Melissa.
