Listened to the song on repeat while I read this. Song matched up with the lyrics included in the fic most of the way through, so I was able to hear the lyrics sung as I read them. Nicely done! I liked how you portrayed Dean's depression over Sam being away, and you did an awesome job at writing the emotional atmosphere of the arguments.

Nicely done. I really like how you've brought some other hunters into the picture. I've always thought that John would know more of them. And it makes a lot of sense right after Sam's left.

I opened this, read the line about the song, and about 2 seconds later Hurt by Johnny Cash started playing. No joke. Creeped me out, but also told me that I had to read this.

Awww! I can't believe I'm up to Sam taking off to University! Certainly makes for some fantastic Dean angst, doesn't it?

There were a lot of sad lines in here, particularly John almost telling Caleb to get his brother, and then calling him "Samuel". But Dean reverting to his childhood silence was heartbreaking.

This was a beautiful, bittersweet one-shot. Thanks for the awesome read.

I know you wrote and posted this ages ago, but I just wanted to say how much I loved this. I can imagine John being quite a raging bull after Sam's departure for Stanford. And I can't say enough about how much I love Caleb and Dean's relationship in your brotherhood verse. It's one of the most honest, touching, funny, and raw connections I've ever read. I shudder to think what some fans out in cyberspace have done with it on their own time. But I digress...

Just FYI - "Hurt" was originally a Nine Inch Nails song. I know Johnny Cash has been around a lot longer, but he covered NIN. I'm probably the only person I know that likes the original better.

You know what's kind of funny? I'm a full limp!Sam supporter but when it comes to your stories, I'm all for limp!Dean. And guess what? I just figured out why. Caleb. Caleb is just so adorable when Dean gets hurt. Seriously. It's to die for.

I read this ages ago, but I have just re watched that great video on youtube again, and it made me want to read this again and again, and then review. The music suits the characters (it's almost always on replay on my pod) and the story is wonderful.

That was a good little fic... Your writing, especially the dialogue, is very easy, very fluent and you catch the characters very well. And you write Hurt!Dean very well too, which is all good! I love a bit of hurt, angsty Dean. (Is there any other type?)

Even when Dean is battered and bleeding he wants to step up and protect his loved ones... I love that. Plus Caleb is stepping up for Dean too. I'm guessing that this fic is part of some AU series that I haven't read, but I like Dean having someone to stand up for him, I like him having a friend. In reality Dean is such a lonely soul, only having Sam in the whole world, but I kinda like to read fics with him having a family around him, no matter how messed up that family is.

Well done. I'm gonna read some more of your stuff now.
