Danilinho Ramrez chapter 8 . 11/29/2019 if you ask my Grimm so far he hasn't fought fair, and yes, I don't agree with the term "Look for victory, not fair" but I can understand his version of "when someone plays you dirty sometimes you have to do the same". I like that you put Ron the pussy trail of will so he wouldn't hurt Kim with the Lotus Blade, a lot of fanfic authors choose to own Zorpox completely, but still How can Ron control the Lotus Blade even in Zorpox status? Because when marvel symbiotes invaded the earth, Jane Foster (at that time the new thor) joined with a symbiote ceased to be worthy of the Mjolnir. Why didn't the same thing happen with Zorpox and the Lotus Blade? could you explain me |
dclark9011 chapter 9 . 11/2/2017 A reversal of the Darth Vader death scene! I am so glad that you made Kim catch herself and admit to her mistake. What a Growth Moment! One other point. Ron does not seem to retain much memory of his time as Zorpox but Zorpox proved he does by remembering he lost on his first go round. If Zorpox comes back then he will remember that Grimm used HIM. Which would Zorpox do first ? Conquer the world or pound Grimm into the ground? |
Guest chapter 9 . 6/8/2017 2017 and I found it enjoyable hehe Gj |
Qriiz chapter 9 . 6/1/2017 While I'm one of those "bad guy need to win sometime", I'm pleased with this ending, the plot, the character, and everything else, superb. It even have the usual villain always won the banter thing. That doormat stab at Yori, that's golden. Kinda thought gonna end with Kim ripping the bracelet and me thinking, "That's it? How stupid." Glad you rose above my expectation. Gonna check your profile to see if your other story have the same quality. |
Guest from RF chapter 6 . 2/15/2017 Sumptuously. The author, accept my admiration. |
Sentinel103 chapter 9 . 11/25/2016 A sweet ending, but I have a feeling that Grimm is going to make a horse's rear end out of himself again. ST-103 |
Luke Danger chapter 1 . 11/28/2015 Okay, wow, the review cut off. Okay, here's the rest (wow they need something to warn you when it's getting too big...) And Kim having to deal with the chip - well, turns out it wasn't handled in canon so you had the room you wanted, and I think you handled it right. Interestingly, I also think that Grimm actually made it easier for them to get past and didn't even realize it. He told Ron about the protection thing hoping to drive a wedge - and let's be fair, that is probably an argument Kim used on herself to deal with the cognitive dissonance. But by doing it, he really gave Kim something to push her straight to admitting it was wrong. Which was the right thing to do - unless they had agreed to some sort of mutual secret countermeasures thing as an all else fails that they couldn't reveal under interrogation, chipping Ron without his consent really was the wrong thing to do. But as Ron pointed out, with all Kim deals with he'd be pretty bad if he didn't return the favor, and honestly considering that he himself admitted that he'd probably be fine with it if it didn't come from Grimm that makes sense. I'll admit, even with the risk Grimm took, seeing everyone flipped to evil was amusing. You could probably do a bunch of stories of everyone's crazy schemes. Wade trying to take over Everlot but having to deal with the wrath of a similarly minded Zita while trying, maybe even a heroic Wraithmaster trying to save the free peoples of Everlot against the growing darkness. Or the reign of "Lord Barkorr" (that was a great image even if it was never drawn). And everyone ignoring Kim; that was a great touch since it showed Evil Ron had some holes and the problem as Sensei noted - evil fights itself, good stands united. Though, two questions. First, where did Grimm find the time to train at Yamanouchi? He made it pretty clear he didn't dabble in it, so how long was he there, or did he just get a start/some key parts and then went to other trainers and did his own training? Second, how did Evil Ron make a new battle suit so easily when Wade keeps trying to fix the normal one? Okay, that's more of a canon problem than your story, but you'd think that if new battle suits were easy to make Wade would've just replaced the original once he salvaged all he could from it. Also, to those who haven't looked at the art, particularly the art with the story, I'd recommend any reader go read the story with the art. Some of the art really adds dimensions that you don't get here - a contrast between Rhonda and Grimm's looks at things (Grimm usually looks smug, Rhonda has some unease in quite a few), or perhaps my favorite of the lot, but the scene of Kim on her doorstep crying as Middleton burned in the background. That one in particular stood out to me - I mean, if you wanted to get across how bad things were... that's the pic to do it, and Kim crying in that situation made perfect sense. Kim's a loner, really, and when you take her close friends and family away from her so suddenly and by turning them into canned villains that's going to hurt. That, I think, probably helped make Grimm a great villain with being able to see how bad it is rather than just reading about it. Okay, this is starting to ramble, so to wrap up: a very excellent story that delves into the Kim Possible setting, delivers a villain who is satisfying as one (and I don't mean Evil Ron though he was great too) and is different from the usual fare, tackles some of the issues of the series head on yet doesn't derail the characters to do so (a rare thing in fanfiction), and in the end is overall an enjoyable read. There are some minor grammar stuff, but most of it is minor stuff that even editors might miss or personal format quibbles that I really can't fault the author for. Fully recommended to anyone looking for good fanfiction - even having read it before I still go chills rereading it. |
Luke Danger chapter 9 . 11/28/2015 So, having finished my Let's Read of this and just needing to proofread it before posting elsewhere, it's about time I gave this a proper review. Overall, this was a very good story and I think it stands on it's own nicely, but really All Things Probable can easily function as a prologue to this. And that's good, because I think this is where you really start to mold Team Probable past the 'mirror opposites of Team Possible' and give them some more flavor. Within it's borders, I actually found myself liking Grimm... as a villain. In fact, I'd compare his kind of villainy here to Arcturus Mengsk in StarCraft, to the UED in the expansion as the rest of the KP villains. You noted yourself that you felt that most of Kim's foes were really physical threats, but Grimm offered a psychological threat. I agree with that assessment - especially in the manner Grimm does it here. While Season One Drakken may have considered destroying Ron's goodness, by this point Drakken really has lost that kind of potential bite. As original characters, Grimm and his cohorts have that freedom to BE villains that are hated personally for doing cruel acts to likable characters and permanently breaking them. Sure, Grimm was faking the whole 'destroy Ron's goodness' (and probably more held onto it to have a hostage in case he got cornered than anything), but given what had been seen in this story alone and prior, there was no indication that Grimm was lying. At best, you have very minute details like him giving it to Rhonda which you only catch on the second read through. Before that, there's little reason to assume Grimm was lying since we don't know enough about him to make a call otherwise without reading ahead. But otherwise? Grimm really sets up as a villain to hate by being willing to mind rape Ron and stand by as it happens to the whole world - I use the term 'mind rape' since the way you consider the chip to be a massive breach of trust, I consider things like the Attitudinator to be very serious because it rewrites a person's morality. And yes, I consider the fact that Kim and Ron were fine with Shego being left in that status extremely questionable, but that's another matter that's probably not for this review. And that works - Arcturus Mengsk was a great villain because he gave you genuine reason to hate him for the right reasons - namely, his evil. Mensgk went about backstabbing loyal and sympathetic characters for limited gain (even injuring himself in the process given he lost plenty of loyal troops), just as Grimm was (seemingly) willing to leave Ron in an irreversible state without Kim having to do that to someone else. Whereas most KP villains, like the UED, are definitely nasty customers, but they're not so nasty that you can't find them somewhat sympathetic. The UED brought stuff like Medics and beat down people like Mengsk, Drakken has his failures to build up sympathy and being genuinely funny. Which, really, I think was a massively missed opportunity. Admittedly you'd need to rewrite your ending to have it and with what you eventually developed it wouldn't really pan out since I have a very hard time imagining the DoD or US Gov ignoring something like this, but Grimm keeping Ron's good hidden and then watching what Kim does to try and fix Ron, if she does, and stringing her along until he gets tired of it and lets her have it back could have been a very fascinating plot angle to work with, because I'll be honest I'm really curious what Kim would choose (my personal idea is mug Grimm of his - after all, had he destroyed Ron's good willingly and knowingly. It's only fair that Grimm has to pay the cost to repair the damage he did). Of course, doing so you'd probably destroy any chance of Grimm becoming sympathetic in the future, but then again... as a villain, Grimm doesn't need to be, as long as he's hatable for the right reasons. Unfortunately, this also means that you also left some MASSIVE holes for later on. Now I can't and won't try to fault you for it since this was before you fully fleshed out Grimm besides him being a villain, but I believe it needs to be addressed at some point. What Grimm did was destabilize the entire world - to go into reality, all the fears of what could be happening that might tank the global economy (specifically disasters and threats like the Straits of Homurz being mined or the North Koreans dumping a bunch of shells on Seoul), or worse stuff like the people in charge of sunshine in a can (nukes or other doomsday devices) having other ideas... that all very well might have happened all at the same time, and on top of that Ron's scheme affected their families. Yet the only hints of remorse or concerns for that on Grimm's part was "Dang, now I need to send Jade bundt cake or something." Admittedly the story didn't give too many opportunities, but still it's really grating because... Well, Grimm did all this for petty revenge. He stood by and went along with it when Evil Ron went off the rails and put the whole world in jeopardy - even if Grimm wasn't in the know, he didn't react much once he was. I can't imagine his father could walk away from that, especially given his 'bleeding heart' spiel to Kim about how they need intel to fight the supervillains. I mean given that, what Grimm did here simply can't be justified even if things all worked out. He just endangered the entire world for /personal/ /revenge/ for losing /once/, and not even suffering that much for it. I know, it's not really related to this story, but I really think that it's something you'll have to address properly at some point because as it is, I think that's a massive part of why people hate Grimm, and not just as a villain but as a character. There's other reasons too, but that's one thing I gleamed here as a big reason. I mean, it wasn't even Grimm who made sure all the bad stuff got stopped, it was basically luck that things didn't get much worse. And as I said, here alone Grimm's actions actually work well to make him a villain that stands out amongst the crowd, I'm not trying to bash Grimm here, I'm more trying to offer some feedback as to what I took from this, particularly in related to other fics of All Things Probable. I believe you have said you've tried to avoid tackling the fallout of Zorpox on Grimm because of that, and if you have not I apologize for putting words in your mouth, but... yeah, I think at some point you really need to tackle what Grimm did here and how far it went. Anyways, onto other things... now, given Grimm's whole scheme here was for Kim to suffer and he won, I'm okay with Kim having gone through a grinder. I'm even fine with the lickings Kim got from Evil Ron the first two times since the first one she was utterly blindsided, the second one she still partially was and still had not trying to hurt him lingering, but the third time... I dunno, I mean she did get a great hit in, but in the end all she did was separate the Lotus Blade from Ron there, it was Monkey Fist who knocked him out in a case of MAD. Sure, she had some other feats like dealing with the laser grid, but even then some of those were easily nullified. As a case in point, the tunnel fight with Grimm. What really got me was how you turned what should of been Kim finally getting a victory - however small - against Grimm in a direct fight and turned it into her just being roped in by him again. I mean, Grimm just got punted through a manhole and he wasn't wearing a helmet nor had the shield up. Shego took a lesser hit sending her into a stone wall and it still took her at least half a minute to get back on her feet to clothesline Ron. And it's not like Grimm needed to be unharmed for his fight with Sensei, there was enough time that I could imagine Grimm recovering for the next bout fairly easily, just look at everyone else in the show. I dunno, I think that was a time you goofed since it made it seem like the only way Kim hits Grimm is when he allows it - sure, it's a bit of a set up for the whole thing at the end with 'we don't need an Attitudinator for her', but that kinda made it worse. Maybe I misread it entirely but I really felt like it was giving us a hope spot and then crushing it utterly when it didn't need to be. Ron hitting Kim while she goes for the finisher was enough, IMO, no need for Grimm to have lured her into it. But that's my two cents. But speaking of that, I had an interesting musing. Sensei discusses that Grimm has the Yin-Yang thing wrong, that there's a bit of both in everyone. I think Kim, of all characters, shows that and it was shown both here and in the show. She genuinely wants to help people, but she has her flaws and can be provoked to anger. Probably not what you were going for directly, but I do find it interesting and it was a great musing to have reading this. As to other things... well, I liked how you had Kim try to go through Ron's mindset by going to Bueno Nacho and trying to think like him to figure it out. I enjoyed the villains being flipped good - a great twist and it finally gave Evil Ron a surprise that caused him to start flipping tables and just go all in without having a contingency that he really should've been able to foresee with everything else he prepared for. Admittedly at a certain point I was like 'where is he getting all this stuff?', but given how easily bad guys get their gear I was fine with it. And Kim having to deal with the chip - well, turns out it wasn't handled in canon so you had the room you wanted, and I think you handled it right. Which was the right thing to do - unless t |
samlem15 chapter 1 . 10/23/2015 Ps I have read all off your stories earlier. I just never reviewed with my account. Sorry! You've got some pretty amazing stories here! |
Bill Erak Dragon Dorado chapter 9 . 8/16/2015 Well, great fanfic. The only thing i kind of don't like is that Grimm is superior in like everything. Maybe at martial arts, but also in the psycho-way? |
Bill Erak Dragon Dorado chapter 8 . 8/16/2015 Oh, i just realized, Yang is bad, and Yin is good, so... yeah, just that. |
Bill Erak Dragon Dorado chapter 7 . 8/16/2015 Well, the sensei has like, you know, some kind of mystical power too. But this was wrote in 2006, and the season 4 is from 2007, so... Yeah, no problem. |
Bill Erak Dragon Dorado chapter 3 . 8/15/2015 just 1 thing: Why blue Ron? If it's the Drakken's evil, ok, but technically it's his own. Well, they removed his good but it's the same. Well, a little mistake, so not the drama. |
5 Coloured Walker chapter 9 . 5/11/2015 A great chapter. They'd likely point out how easy it'd be to remove that chip from his wrist though. Note to self: If I ever get chipped, don't put it somewhere they're normally put. |
5 Coloured Walker chapter 1 . 5/10/2015 I was just going to review at the ends but I'm going to leave an extra one here. Line breaks and markers are used to indicate scene changes for a reason. Jumping suddenly once or twice is ok, several times is annoying. I've a feeling I'm going to be getting used to it though. |
