Lerrinus chapter 1 . 2/14/2007 Wow, I can *so* see House thinking this! Best lines: "...he realized he knew how many Vicodin he had, just by the sound they made..." He knows without looking that he’s gone through nearly a third of the pills. House turns the bottle over again, tracks the noise the pills make, then puts the bottle in his pocket. Twelve should be enough, he thinks, but thirty would be better. Great writing! *Adds to faves* :-) |
fox4mel chapter 1 . 12/1/2006 I've spent the past few days reading all of your work and wanted to let you now how impressed I am with your writing! I think you have managed to capture House's psyche in a way that few people have. I really enjoyed this last piece and look forward for what you write next! |
Inspector Minkey chapter 1 . 12/1/2006 Believable, evocative, in-character. Perfect. |
Enfleurage chapter 1 . 12/1/2006 An incredibly insightful and well-written story. There's such a psychological component to pain, not something that can be measured in blood, urine, insulin or other empirical tests, that it makes perfect sense for House to find comfort in knowing that he can control the pain and in forecasting the number of pills needed not just to control the pain but provide the comfort of knowing he can control it. House without pain, without pills, without the ability to exert control over the situation isn't the character we know. I'm anxious about the show treading in the direction of rehab. |
bgn chapter 1 . 12/1/2006 Very nice insight. I wish Tritter could understand. Hope they get to that point on the show soon. |
AtreidesHeir chapter 1 . 12/1/2006 Makes total sense to me. House logic in it's best form. Nicely done. Love the description about the pills running down the side and him listening to them, judging how many he has, which explains why he always shakes the bottle. I do that to. A friend asked why he does it and I just couldn't explain it to her so that it made sense, but you explain it perfectly in simple words that everyone can understand:) |
She-Elf4 chapter 1 . 12/1/2006 This was a good story. You show the pain he feels in his let very well. As well as what he feels about having to depend on vicoden. |
