This was fantastic! I adore the way you wrote both Violet and Olaf, and then that little sprinkle of fluff was just perfection!

Never, ever in a million years did I think I would enjoy this pairing, but wow. My goodness. This was written exquisitely, and I love everything about it. The imagery, the realism, the fact that this wasn't all lovey-dovey and cheesy (I'll admit I do love a good fluffy fic, but I truly appreciate these gems that reach into your heart, without an overwhelming amount of angst. )

Aw! I loved it! Just recently I've been rereading the series and I decided I wanted to try looking up some Violaf stuff and I was lucky enough to find this wonderful fanfic. :) Great job!

Oh my goodness. I... I'm literally speechless. That was one of the most incredible fanfictions I have ever read. Are you being honest when you say that was your first fic EVER? :P Sure seems implausible to me, with how much experience you seem to have!

The writing is just fantastic. Characterization is great; I love how you explored their relationship. It wasn't disturbing, like some fanfics prove to be when they get too sexual. It's as though your characterization of Olaf is balancing on the fine line of a father figure (in a comforting way) and romantic partner. Not to imply that it seemed like incest, but y'know what I mean. :)

I have to ask you about 'The End'- did you feel empathetic for Olaf at all when he passes away? The actions he took with Kit and some of the things he said... It almost made me sincerely believe he could have been a genuinely good person- just a good person who allowed the darkness of life to destroy him.

Tomas loves to see moments like this. There is a certain hunger that a character like Olaf could easily be seen to have, and it isn't for money. No, it is not. It's for what you have captured here and put on display for all of us: that cruel, grasping, needful thing that drives us to hold something pure and precious in our hands and squeeze all the light out of it, partly because we know if we don't someone else will, and mostly because if we take it for ourselves then it will be all ours! It was a delectable read, and Tomas thanks you for creating that moment some of us craved and the author never provided.

Now bear in mind, I never read but one book of this series, and that was the last. Just to see how the Count died, and this only for the reason that from seeing the previews for the movie, I found Mr. Carrey's performance to be so annoying I had to watch that particular villain die. So they really were married in the book? That's odd. But we're getting off topic. Once more, you have a splendid writing style. And French is the language of a goddess, so bravo to you for claiming to know it. We wish you the wickedest satisfaction with your further writings. Pleasant dreams.

While I haven't really dabbled into this particular fandom much, I have to say, this is probably one of the best stories out of that fandom that I have ever read.

Your writing is beautiful, flawless . . . absolutely perfect for the type of story you are writing about.

This was so captivating. The stunning images you painted in my mind with the 'dying stars' and the 'moonlight glinting off Klaus's glasses' and the 'black oil palette of night sky' . . . It was all so beautiful.

Is it...Is it okay that this story has left an ache in my heart? I do not wish to be poetically, for poetry is meant for the lovers, dreamers, and the mad men-quite the same thing, if you really think about it. No, I'm hurting from a deep rooted sadness. You see, my own life has been a series of unfortunate events. But at the end of the day, I have overcomed with a smile in place. I understand this is all make believe...yet, why does it feel so true? It feels too real to be merely that. At the end of your journey, after all your struggles, is there only darkness? To be honest, I wish to not be a dying star.

But getting out of my new-founded depressing state: Brilliant! My dear, you are quite the weaver of tales. They say writers are manipulaters, and I am inclined to agree. Only a great writer could get me from my cheerful mood to this! Haha! Of course, I'm actually delighted by this. There aren't many people on this site who have done so. (Not that I'm making myself out to be amazing, just stating a fact.)

I really enjoyed this. The descriptions were really gripping, and the dialogue was very IC. I like how they slowly warmed up to eachother. However, I wasn't a big fan of the part where Violet thought about kissing him. It was just a little . . . off. Anyway, lovely fic!

Mmf... nice in-character-ness, good grammar/spelling.. me liked. Pretty good, for your first fanfic!

Loved this! The tone was perfect, calm, droll, melancholic. The characters were spot on! Loved Olaf’s pretending to be caring only to make fun of her outfit! There is something twisted and intruguing about Violaf. I’ve only watched the movie and read a bit of the books, but from that alone I found them an appealing pair.

Anywho! Excellent stuff. Favouriting it! And I’m not even a big fan of Lemony Snickets!

Hm. Ending was deliciously un-undestandable and rife with hidden meaning. (Maybe I'm just too tired to figure it out...)

I don't really remember the 13th book, so I'm not exactly sure when this takes place, but the characterizations were great and the description and meaning and EVERYTHING was perfect.
